Hello mystery lovers and welcome to a new Mystery Monday.
I hope you had a great week-end. Here is a new little part of Murder at
the Conference. Murder at the Conference is a stand alone sequel to
Harajuku Kiss.
We start right were we left off last week:
The taxi driver finally got in. Someone stood at his window asking at which hotel we were going. It was a bit of a mix but we still managed. Of course, Christa, the student and I were at the cheapest while the professors were somewhere a bit more fancy. Still, I had chosen mine because it offered breakfast. At conference it was sometimes difficult to figure out what or where to eat on a budget so it was always a good idea to at least have breakfast at the hotel. Especially that so far, there was little English used as all. The people supposed to take care of us were debating something or others in Chinese.
The road to the hotel was long, mostly highway but they had very strange red light on it. I don't think I had ever seen such large road with signalization light on them before. The ride was fast and scary and the driver would brake heavily at every red light. I wasn't the only one having trouble with the driving. Margaret was clinging at her seat-belt with both hands. I hadn't been in a car in a long time. I hadn't been in a car since the day of my attempted kidnapping. I wasn't used to the driving or the road anymore. Living in Tokyo, it was easier to take the train everywhere.
You can now find all the Snippets of Murder at the Conference on this blog all together right here.
