Welcome to Tuesday Travel. This week we are following Brownie on her journey as she is going toward the second element: Earth.
About Witch Raising.
Witch Raising is a new series with Brownie, the heroine of Demon Soul as
the main character. This series is part of the House at the Crossing
Series and follows Demon Soul and Demon and Fairy but instead of being
centered on the adventure of Sahel and his demon friends, it follows
Brownie as she goes from being a normal girl to a bad ass witch. She has
been practicing magick for a while now, saving people from difficult
situations but the people at the house, including Sahel aren't happy
with her new calling. Feeling that she doesn't have a choice and has to
keep learning witchcraft, Brownie leaves to meet other witches.
The excerpt starts right where we left off last week.
The waiter was coming toward them again with plates filling his hands. He had one in each and one in equilibrium on his left for arm. In a moving train, it seemed a bit dangerous. Brownie didn't think she could do it, especially if the train was to take an unexpected turn. The train didn't take a turn, but it braked very strongly. The waiter moved forward toward the table, the plate from his forearm went flying all the way to the back and the one next to it turned around on their table knocking out Margarethe and Daphy's glassed. The wine and water poured on the table as the waiter tried to take a hold of the table while still carrying the last plate which had already lost half it's content on the floor.
“Lady and Gentleman,” a feminine voice resonated in the wagon restaurant from the speaker. “The train has to be stop temporarily due to a boulder blocking the rail. We will resume the trip as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience, we are sincerely sorry for the inconvenience.”
“A boulder,” Henry said.
