Welcome to a new part of Vampire Heart unedited. Have you been bitten yet?
We introduced Sorina, three weeks after the beginning of Viorel's escape.
Viorel dreamed of Sorina and woke up not really remembering anything. Traveling to Paris, he arrives at "La cour des miracles". He is rescued by a stranger who turned out to be Nicolas Flamel, the alchemist he was looking for. Nicolas does some strange experiment without Viorel's agreement. Some people are looking for Nicolas's secrets. On the other side of Europe, Sorina awakes and Viorel's past in haunting him. Viorel discovered that he can change into a wolf but that's not the easiest thing to handle. After finding out that a younger version of Nicolas might not be acting with his best interest at heart, Viorel decides to leave for the north. He is now traveling with two people, Alexej who needed to get out of Praha and Irina who he accidentally rescued.
Now, let's continue with Vampire Heart, right where we left off last time.
I turned around to face the wall. There was arrogance in me. Something I hadn't felt in a long time. I had embraced my human side and eaten human food. I had embraced the wolf in me without questioning. But I had always felt uneven about my vampiric side. I had been betrayed by my clan. They had tried to kill me. They had stolen everything that was precious to me and they had even erased myself from my own mind but I couldn't let a human, this man, misunderstand. I could feel the pride of the blood running inside of me from my father side. I could feel the hatred for the Jäger burning inside of me as they represented the enemy, the threat for everything the vampiric world was. Of course, it wasn't pretty, it wasn't fair, it wasn't great and it was build on horrific things but so was human society. They had war against each other for the stupidest reason, for different believe in a god who didn't exist, for using different language, for wearing different clothes or even for a different shade of skin color. The vampires at least had a chance for individual maturing and that would come a lot faster than maturation for an always expending species.
Vampires limited their numbers to take care of their resources, humans had children even when it meant they would starve to death or be unable to wear decent clothes. Vampire gathered knowledge to create something better as an individual, they had a purpose. Human let people in power position dictate whatever they could do or even think.
