Thursday Fiction 378: Parallel Slip 2: Rebel

Welcome back to a new Thursday Fiction, it's been a while. We continue with Parallel Slip 2: Rebel where we left of last time, following Isabelle as she figure out who she really is.

Her mind was a mess. It had always been a mess forbidding her to sleep at night but, it was worse than that now, she had no control over her thoughts, no idea how to get out of her life. She didn't want to be herself anymore. She wanted to be someone else. She sat up just long enough to lock the door to the bathroom and closed her eyes. She didn't call for a particular universe this time, she called for one where she wouldn't be so useless, where she wouldn't be so scared of everything and everyone, she called for a universe where she would be strong. She didn't look at the bubbles in front of her. She kept on calling for something to happen, anything to make her feel better.

She opened her eyes again when she felt the grass caressing her cheek. The grass was blue and the sky was orange and something was clearly not right in this universe. Every color was wrong. And Isabelle began to laugh. It was the best thing she had ever seen in her life. Everything was wrong, everything felt so out of place that she felt as if she belonged for the first time. She sat up and looked around. She was alone with the wind and the flowers and the grass, at the top of a hill. Her skin was light purple and she was wearing a light white dress.
