Thursday Fiction 366: Parallel Slip 2: Rebel

Welcome back to a new Thursday Fiction, it's been a while. We continue with Parallel Slip 2: Rebel where we left of last time, following Isabelle as she figure out who she really is.

Magic? Was that what Romulus meant when he said the law of physics had taken a different turn?

“So many questions, I don't know how you do it,” Clara said. “Just watch.”

Romulus had one hand extended toward the water. There were ripples forming but Isabelle put that on the waves and wind acting against each other, or maybe a fish. For sure, Romulus couldn't be the one forming them but at the same time, he was staring straight at the point where the ripples formed. Her mother passed an arm around her shoulders. It was warm and maybe calming, a wave of heat spread through her entire body but then her mind started to race again. She hadn't been that close to her mother in a very long time. And she didn't know what her mother was actually like in other universe, the only one she had ever met had been controlled body and mind by her real mother following her around to make her go back to her own body. If she was to find her now, that would get even worse. She had to get out.
