WeWriWar 383: Sun Kiss 5

Hello everybody!

Welcome to a new Sunday of writing with Weekend Writing Warrior and Snippet Sunday!

I'm out of the hospital, feeling a lot better than I had in a long while. Still a bit sore but good enough to work on some writing. So here is a new little part of Sun Kiss. Enjoy!

But let's just get started where we left off last time:

She wondered if she should go back to the kitchen to warm up her tea but decided that was useless, it was going to turn cold again before she starts to drink it again, maybe getting that usb-cup warmer wouldn’t be a bad thing after all. She thought it was a useless gadget and she hadn't been much on her computer with the Latin since she preferred to read on paper with a pen and a ruler. The only thing that bothered her was wondering if she wasn't creating a dependence on the colors: Blue for accusative, green for the verbs, black for the subject and nominative... Was she reading the words or was she reading the colors? She was going to need to get another copy so that she would be able to check if she could understand things without the visual colorful help. But that could come later. She needed to focus.

  1. So true! We writers do tend to give our "helpers" too much power when the power should be in the words, themselves. Glad you're out and feeling better. Keep getting stronger but give yourself time to heal.

    1. Yes, power in the words themselves, exactly what to aim for. Thank you!

  2. Good idea, to read it a different way to test her mind and how it was perceiving the words. :-) So glad you're out of the hospital.

    1. I got that idea from comparing how different students study languages. I should be ok now. Thank you!

  5. Glad you're feeling somewhat better. Interesting... I was reading about how our minds perceive and are primed in a sense by text in certain colors.

    1. Oh that's interesting. Where did you read about that? Is there a link to it?
