Thursday Fiction 352: Parallel Slip: Rebel

Welcome back to a new Thursday Fiction. We continue where we left of last week, following Isabelle as she figure out who she really is.

Malik was at the other side of the table, entertaining the other part of the guest and couldn't hear her. Isabelle should have been the one doing the entertainment she realized but of course she wasn't trusted with that either.

There was no way for her initiation to happen in a week. It was as if her mother had used it as a bail to get her quiet for a while. Maybe the idea was to postpone her initiation enough to have Malik take her place.

“I think Malik can have great authority, did I tell you that he has been elected at the youth council in town again this year,” Teadrika said.

Isabelle snorted and her mother gave her a dark look again. What she wasn't mentioning was that she had a huge donation to most of the organisation able to cast a vote just for Malik to look good. Her brother was a psycho, just as much as Mike. Isabelle looked at both of them wondering if maybe, just maybe Malik could be Mike's son, that would explain a lot but at the same time, she didn't really see her mother going at it with this aging version of the man. She wondered what was making him look so much older than his real age.
