Welcome to Mystery Monday. This week, we continue with Murder at the Conference.
Let's get back where we left off with last week.
I didn't sleep well that night, it was hot, the window was open as I couldn't sleep with the noise of the air conditioner. I was always trying to figure out things I was going to say about my poster. I was making scenarii in my heads about who was going to be at the conference and what we were going to talk about. Which talk would be more interesting. If some friends I hadn't seen in a long time would be there even if not as a speaker. The list of poster wasn't released, they only had a list of the invited speakers on their website and I didn't know the email of every physicists I liked. It was driving me crazy. Ever since I started writing the abstract and then the conference paper for the poster, I had been unable to stop thinking about the conference. About China, one more country to add to the list of the country I visited and a big one at that, with a lot of culture and mystery. My mind shifted between dream and semi-consciousness without ever letting me out of it. It was a sweet letargy but never proper rest. It wasn't going to end any time soon. I had more and more troubles to fall asleep so I procrastinated on sleeping and as a result I had more and more trouble to get up in the morning. I didn't know what to do with myself during the night which didn't help me know what to do with myself during the day.
