Tuesday Travel 141: Witch Raising: The Book of Fire

Welcome to Tuesday Travel. Every Tuesday, I will be presenting an excerpt of Witch Raising: The Book of Fire, the book in which Brownie, the heroine of Demon Soul, is undertaking an initiatory journey.

About Witch Raising: The Book of Fire

Witch Raising is a new series with Brownie, the heroine of Demon Soul as the main character. This series is part of the House at the Crossing Series and follows Demon Soul and Demon and Fairy but instead of being centered on the adventure of Sahel and his demon friends, it follows Brownie as she goes from being a normal girl to a bad ass witch. She has been practicing magick for a while now, saving people from difficult situations but the people at the house, including Sahel aren't happy with her new calling. Feeling that she doesn't have a choice and has to keep learning witchcraft, Brownie leaves to meet other witches.

The excerpt, we start where we left off last week

"Because whatever she is going to cast isn't going to do anything," Brownie said.

"And how do you know that? She also said you are a fraud," Josh answered.

"Believe what you want," Brownie said. "I don't have time to argue."

She opened the book to the table content and read through it quickly. It was there, on the second page, a confusion spell for a large group.

She opened the book to page 53. She didn't need many things. Two black candles for protection, a green one for the wind and moon incense. The candle would be easy to find but the moon incense was a bit of a tricky one.

There were a store, not to far from their hostel. They stopped and got the candles.

"I need incense," Brownie said. A confusion spell was a wind spell, she hadn't used much wind spells before and she wanted to have all the chances on her side.

"I don't know where to find that, I'm not from here." Josh said. Maybe getting rid of Samantha had been a mistake. She definitely would have known where to find insence at least it would have been written in her book.

"Can we stop at a temple and get some?" Josh asked.

"Not really I need something very particlar," Brownie said.
