Welcome to Mystery Monday. This week, we continue with Murder at the Conference.
Let's get back where we left off with chapter 2 last week.
“I guess I'm just exploring the world differently, or a different world,” Seiji said.
“A world with numbers and equations and computers.” I said. “But you could do both.”
“No really. That would mean knowing a lot of things superficially and going nowhere.”
Was that what I was doing? Was I really doing too many things by doing my job for hours and reading like crazy about other stuff during my free time and learning languages and basically anything I could get my hands on without really finishing anything to a point of having a PhD, except for physics because that was my job.
“It's like a waste of time for me, to go somewhere,” Seiji said. “I know it's fun for you but I don't get why.”
“We have to go because there is more to the world than just work and numbers,” I said.
“Even for a physicist?”
“Especially for a physicist. We went to understand the mystery of the universe, how it works. We can't do that if we don't learn about the world. And you can't change the world efficiently if you don't know how it works either.”
“I don't need to know how it works, I don't need to get out and see it, if I want to see something, I can just google it.”
