Thursday Fiction 334: Parallel Slip: Rebel

Welcome back to a new Thursday Fiction. We continue where we left of last week, following Isabelle as she figure out who she really is.

Isabelle didn't hear the door open or the footsteps on her carpeted floor but Malik was sitting on her bed. He throw a ball at the wall just above her collection of fragile porcelain dolls and caught it back before throwing it again. She hated when he did that. He could break her things any time.

“Stop that and get out.”

Malik ignored her and threw the ball again. If she mentioned that she didn't want him to throw his ball around, he would just get it closer to her dolls just to unnerve her a little more. She wanted to slap him but then her mother would come to tell her how horrible she was and how she needed to be nicer to her bother. Never mind that her perfect son was insufferable.

“I thought we could play some video games, mum is having a meeting with people from the alliance about your initiation,” Malik said.

Isabelle sat upright, she tried to catch his ball by habit but he got it first.

“What about my initiation?”

Malik laughed.
