About Witch Raising: The Book of Fire

Witch Raising is a new series with Brownie, the heroine of Demon Soul as the main character. This series is part of the House at the Crossing Series and follows Demon Soul and Demon and Fairy but instead of being centered on the adventure of Sahel and his demon friends, it follows Brownie as she goes from being a normal girl to a bad ass witch. She has been practicing magick for a while now, saving people from difficult situations but the people at the house, including Sahel aren't happy with her new calling. Feeling that she doesn't have a choice and has to keep learning witchcraft, Brownie leaves to meet other witches.

The excerpt, we start where we left off last week

The problem wasn't really what to eat though, it was more finding a place to sit down and do so. The place was crowded. There wasn't a single chair at a terrace without someone sitting on it, a single stair without a group sitting down there or a restaurant without a queue long like it would last forever.

People were also queuing at all the temporary stands that had been build up just for the Fire Lion Festival.

"We gotta get out of here," Josh said. "This is a freaking nightmare."

"I say we go get a restaurant above the parade where people haven't been yet so that we can eat and stay there while waiting for them to appear," Samantha said.

"Second that," Josh said.

Brownie wasn't sure. Not that she had ever been to that many events of this scale but there was a chance that they were other people with the same idea.

"I say we go back, to the place people already left with the parade," she said.

"We have no way of knowing how many people have already stopped there and how far we'll have to go," Samantha said. "We better move forward."

All in all, it seemed like it would be the same. They proceed to follow the parade's map ahead of the parade. The people participating in the parade seemed to have their restaurants already booked for them, free area everywhere and no way to get it. Josh was getting frustrated as they kept on moving forward and it seemed all the city had had the same idea.
