About Witch Raising: The Book of Fire

Witch Raising is a new series with Brownie, the heroine of Demon Soul as the main character. This series is part of the House at the Crossing Series and follows Demon Soul and Demon and Fairy but instead of being centered on the adventure of Sahel and his demon friends, it follows Brownie as she goes from being a normal girl to a bad ass witch. She has been practicing magick for a while now, saving people from difficult situations but the people at the house, including Sahel aren't happy with her new calling. Feeling that she doesn't have a choice and has to keep learning witchcraft, Brownie leaves to meet other witches.

The excerpt, we start where we left off last week

She should know, she thought she knew but she was a bit confused now. Because she had fallen in love with Yue for his soul but had still loved him without it until he left forever and she had found his soul back but the time and memories she had with Sahel were nothing compared to the time with Yue and even if Sahel had his soul. She didn't know what to think anymore, or what to feel. There was too much tension, too many problems. There was nothing bringing them together that they could hold onto.
"I think I could teach you the cards but I don't think you came here for that," the woman said. "I think you came here because you need to control your own fire."
"What does that mean? What am I supposed to do?" Brownie said.
"I don't know, the woman answered. "But it is the Fire Lion Festival starting tomorrow and you arrived today. If I were you, I would take that as a sign and look around tomorrow. What you really need to find generally finds you."
She smiled and let go of Brownie's hand.
"Now let me see if I can go and find you a deck that you can use. If you want to keep it, I'll add it to the bill."
"How much for the room?" Brownie asked.
"32 per nights so if you stay the four nights as I predicted, that'll be 124 in total." The woman answered.
"All right, I'm taking it," Brownie answered, trying to show that she was in control even if she really didn't feel like it.
"Of course," the woman said. "You can find a list of the closest restaurant downstairs."
She left the room and Brownie lied down on the bed. She was hungry. She took a jacket out of her pack and a smaller bag where she put a book, her wallet and she locked her backpack in the safe. She left Viorel's food out on the bed as both bags wouldn't fit in and walked out not forgetting to lock the door behind her. She slide the key in her pocket. Now to remember how to go downstairs.
She took the stairs, walked passed the girls' bathroom and in front of several 6 bed rooms.
"So you finally made it here I see," a voice she recognized as the voice of the boy from the train station called to her.
