Thursday Fiction 235: Parallel Slip

Welcome back to a new part of Parallel Slip, where we follow the adventures of Frederique through her slip in different parallel universes.

Let's start right where we left off last week.

"Since she has been in charge after the lost of her father, there had been several uncovered incident which have come to my attention. She refused to obey the protocol during attacks leading the ship to an hazardous unbalance which could have already caused out death. She decided for a trip to an unknown region of the universe despite flying without maps and without orders. The council tried to stop her many time and to reschedule the trip but she refused to obey. She decided to go through the same dangerous trip with a flawed second engine. We have been unable to completely fix it and the driving now requires a highly precise compensation. The driving she left of course to barely human monsters when there is a highly qualified pilot on board."

Tucker nodded toward his overly tall girl. Damn, even with judo or karate, nothing I could do would work on her.

"Now once again she defies the confederation but refusing to comply to a direct order of arrest I have in my hand and call on you out of your duty to have a vote mocking authority of the council to take into your hands the future of this ship. If you haven't decided yet, keep in mind that we are flying through a dangerous asteroid belt and that she trusted her monstrosity of pilots to get us through it. Since she has come in charge of this ship, there is not a single decision this captain has taken that hasn't been endangering you all. Keep that in mind when you vote."

There was some heavier whispering. I wasn't sure about the culture here but if anyone had talking to me like I didn't matter as much as the authority in place I was sure I would have rather vote for the other guy.
