Tuesday Travel 19: Witch Raising: The Book of Fire

Welcome to the first Tuesday Travel post. Every Tuesday, I will be presenting an excerpt of Witch Raising: The Book of Fire.

About Witch Raising: The Book of Fire

Witch Raising is a new series with Brownie, the heroine of Demon Soul as the main character. This series is part of the House at the Crossing Series and follows Demon Soul and Demon and Fairy but instead of being centered on the adventure of Sahel and his demon friends, it follows Brownie as she goes from being a normal girl to a bad ass witch. She has been practicing magick for a while now, saving people from difficult situations but the people at the house, including Sahel aren't happy with her new calling. Feeling that she doesn't have a choice and has to keep learning witchcraft, Brownie leaves to meet other witches.

The excerpt, we start where we left off last week

“So you recognize that you have a magic problem, that you don't know what you are doing and it's dangerous for your health,” Sahel said even more calmly as he was speaking before which had the effect on just getting on her nerves more.
“Have you even heard a single word I said?”
“All of them,” Sahel answered with a smile.
It was Yue's smile when he was trying to hurt her, she had never seen it on Sahel before but here is was. Sahel was not Yue but for sure right now he was so damn close.
“Then get yourself a freaking dictionary,” Brownie said with a frustrated laugh.
There was nothing she could say to make him understand, she wasn't doing magic by choice anymore, not really, she was doing it because inside of her there was this cliff and on the other side a dark forest pushing her toward the edge and at the bottom of the cliff some angry water and she was about to fall and the only thing that kept her standing on the cliff against the wind, the only thing that kept her straight was the magical roots she had drowned out of the ground for herself, the wheel of magic beneath her that she could dive into to protect herself. She was cornered, when she had stopped magic all together to please him, it had all come closer and closer and she had been near drowning when she had gone back and prepare the potion. It had brought her back, it sure had had crazy effect when opening the gate to all those past memories to come back to her but she had gotten out of the water at least. There was no way the way out was down in the water, not a chance and stopping magic was taking her just there. Now with the magic, she might be able to cross that dark forest and see for herself what was on the other side, but not if she had to hide and get caught and argue about it all the freaking time.
