Tuesday Travel 3: Witch Raising: The Book of Fire

Welcome to the first Tuesday Travel post. Every Tuesday, I will be presenting an excerpt of Witch Raising: The Book of Fire.

About Witch Raising: The Book of Fire

Witch Raising is a new series with Brownie, the heroine of Demon Soul as the main character. This series is part of the House at the Crossing Series and follows Demon Soul and Demon and Fairy but instead of being centered on the adventure of Sahel and his demon friends, it follows Brownie as she goes from being a normal girl to a bad ass witch. She has been practicing magick for a while now, saving people from difficult situations but the people at the house, including Sahel aren't happy with her new calling. Feeling that she doesn't have a choice and has to keep learning witchcraft, Brownie leaves to meet other witches.

The excerpt, we start where we left off last week

Or maybe this wasn't her seed because if it was, there shouldn't be anyone else here.
“That's where you are right and mistaken, there is no one here, just I, there is no you, just I.”
“We are....” Brownie started but the sound got fuzzy in her mind as if just that had taken too much energy already.
“Oh, don't break the treat by thinking about it, We are I, always have been, except that I is always here. I wonder when you would finally come.”
Putting the pieces together, she had already been here, long time ago, in her previous life, just she had forgotten the pathway. The seed at the core of her being was linked to the rest of the universe, she was just reaching it because there was nothing left, the magic within her was gone and the magic outside of her was calling to her to replenish her core. She had never been so deep, never used up all she had before. She had never trusted herself enough to be completely and irrevocably loosing herself to her magic and still stand on her own.
Though she wasn't really standing, she was lying down here and hoping that her voice would stay quiet and let her rest because this time over, she really deserved it.
The voice laughed softly and disappeared as if it too was part of the light and her core seed of existence joined with the core seed of the universe. It was warm and comfortable in here. There were others but they were barely distinguishable from the whole. She was a part of it too, whole with the universe as if the universe belonged to her just as she belonged to the universe.
