Wednesday Snippet: Demon World 100

Welcome to a new part of Demon World unedited, we start right where we left off last time.

“Where am I? Where am I? Why am I a human? Why am I here?” he said out loud panicking but no words came out of his human throat.
The wind calmed down and he felt harshly on the ground, hurting his head against the mast of the ship. He lost consciousness.

The sun was high in the sky and crows were turning in circle around the dusty place in the center of the village. A young and an older women were talking near the well, trying to get water out, pulling on the rope with their bare hands. They were both dressed in black. Sahel shook his head a bit disoriented and put his hand on it expecting to feel a bump due to the shock with the mat but there was nothing, it wasn’t even painful, he wasn’t even wet. He looked back at his wings but they were still absent. He was a human again, or still, he wondered where this place was, he wondered if Brownie had seen the same thing.
“Oh hello patre”, the older woman said in a language that he didn’t understand.
But he answered in the same tongue. The younger one had lowered her head, looking at her sandals. She seemed afraid. Sahel wondered why, in this world he wasn’t really a demon.
The older woman continued to talk to him but he didn’t pay much attention. He wanted to know what was scaring the younger girl but his other self wasn’t interested by that, he grabbed the rope I her hand scaring her away from it in a jump. As if she was afraid to enter in contact with him. He pulled up the bucket of water and left it on the wall.
