JulNoWriMo, Camp NaNo July: Vampire Heart part 11

Dylan

The moment I started complaining about yudu not letting me upload anything it decided to work. So here we go, another small part of Vampire Heart. And guess what?! Viorel finally reached Krakow, except that there is something weird happening there and it has nothing to do with Vampires for a change.

I took few days off writing and I think things are getting better now but it put me a little bit behind schedule. I'm also leaving tomorrow for a business trip so I don't know how much I will be able to write during that time. I don't know how long it will take for me to finish this draft. I wanted it done by the end of August but I might have to work on it all September as well. In the mean time I might try to write something else, just to help me relax a bit. Spending month on a project without any real interruption is draining for my creativity.

Anyway, I hope you'll enjoy this new part, and you'll have to come back for the next to see what happened to Irina.

JulNoWriMo, Camp NaNo July: Vampire Heart part 10

Sorry for not posting the new part of Vampire Heart yesterday. I was out exploring the world. Actually one of the three most famous place in Japan. (or so I was told) More coming soon about that on the Japan travel posts.

As far as my writing is concern, I'm not writing as much as I want to. I'm feeling a bit burned out and thinking about writing makes me want to sleep. That's a bit painful. I'm trying to gather ideas to fix this problem. None the less, I managed to get half way through my desired word count for Camp NaNoWriMo July so I guess it's not too bad.
In this part there are a lot of dreams about Viorel's past, I finally managed to get him somewhere alone to be able to use the philosopher stone safely. I hope you'll enjoy.

I was also thinking about writing some other parts about Dylan just like we have Sorina's parts but maybe I should write a completely different novel for him. Let me know what you think!

JulNoWriMo, Camp NaNo July: Vampire Heart part 9

Here comes another Saturday and another part of Vampire Heart. I'm participating to Camp NaNoWriMo July (and JulNoWriMo) with a goal of 50000 words more by the end of the month. It won't finish the story yet but that's already a good progress.
All Novels Drafts

I wrote 11138 words so far. Here is the words ticker for June and July together setting the total goal to 100000.

I'm happy with the story because Viorel finally left Praha with two new mysterious characters and is now on the road to the Grand duchy of Muscovy with our  first big stop to be in Kraków. There won't be so much killing for the moment at least until we reach Kraków where some more mysteries and enemies are awaiting Viorel.

July challenges

Today is the first of July and it's then time to start another list of challenges.
But first let's have a look at what happened to the June challenges, starting with the bad news to get to the good news.

1) Out of 7 challenges is June, I failed one Read more or die. I had based my pages goal on what I read for the previous challenges but this time I intended to read novels instead of reading manga. It was a lot more difficult and changes in my life also made it that I couldn't read daily in the bus as I'm now walking. I still really enjoy reading ビブリア古書堂の事件手帖。So I'm not giving up, it's just taking me more time than expected.

2) As I announced few weeks ago, I finished the 6 Week Challenge with more hours spend on learning Japanese than expected.

3) I won JuNoWriMo few days ago.  Bringing Vampire Heart to 103360 words in total but I'm still far from having finished the story which will be continued this month during Camp NaNoWriMo July.

4) I managed to blog almost every day, missing only 3 days.

5) Mich's Summer Mystery started on time and is currently running with two posts a week. There are still no winner yet so don't forget to join and win one of the prizes.

6) 7) I finished editing and illustrating Demon and Fairy and the book has been sent to CreateSpace and 5 free copies have been order for the winners of Mich's Summer Mystery. The book might not be perfect yet so it will take some more read through before being out as a ebook.

So What's up for July?

Compare to June's madness, not much. I really feel like taking it easy this month.

1) I'm participating to Camp NaNoWriMo July.
The contest will help me write 50000 words of Vampire Heart. I'm intending to get to a total of 240k words by the end of the summer, this is a rough estimation of how much I need to finish the story.

2) Last revisions
I want to spend the first 20 days of the month reviewing Demon Soul, Attic Mirror and Demon and Fairy one last time for typos. Anyone willing to read the novels and help with this can contact me to get a free pdf. I already have a list of typos given by some readers.

3) Editing
I will start editing Harajuku Kiss hoping to have it done by the end of the year. It is 60k long which is shorter than my usual first draft and will probably need 20k more to get to an acceptable length, I'm not completely happy with some lack of details in the story and might introduce another part from Seiji's point of view. I'm still wondering about that because a part of me wants to make him as mysterious as possible. I could also use the detective a bit more, I guess the best is to try both and see which one I prefer.

4) Planning
I have been thinking a lot about the "sequel" of Demon World and the more I think about it, the more I want to right one sequel for each open ending and one for Demon and Fairy's prologue. I'm thinking about outlining everything this month and list the scenes I already prepare to see in which novel they would fit. All in all that's a lot of Demon novels to write up in the years to come.
I also have The Bayard's House, a story about magic with Sedana, Taika and Gideon as main characters, which needs further planning and Sun Kiss, another vampire story.

5) Preparing my trip for China
I can't wait to go to China for the conference and to meet my friends there, it will be my first time in China and it's very exciting.

6) Etsy shop.

I'm intending to add a lot more product to my etsy shop this month, I have 6 dolls which only need to be finished and plans for some more. I also want to had bracelet and my novel in pdf version to the store. So stay tune.

7) Videos
I also want to start preparing some vlogs for September, I haven't really made up my mind yet, so we'll see how it goes.

8) Reading
And of course I'm going to read as much as possible, in Japanese and beta read for other writers. I might post a list later if I feel like it.

I won JulNoWriMo, New challenge : AugNoWriMo, "Demon and fairy"

En français
So yesterday was the 31st of July and I won JulNoWriMo. I had about 4000 words to write on the last day. That's the first time that I have been so much behind on a writing challenge (except script frenzy). That's probably due to outdoors activities for sure but also to the fact that this story is getting crazy. I'm amazing myself at the things happening in it. Of course I had planed it. Of course I know the end already, but there always are things that are being created while writing. When I start writing I know most of the main events but linking them can be very creative and spontaneous.
I hope you will like the way things are going now.

Also today is the first of August and I'm starting a new challenge. The new writing contest is called AugNoWriMo. You are able to be choose your words goal and to you can work on an already started project. I decided to work on "Demon and fairy" and I'm hoping to finish it with 40000 words more.

Here is the last part of "Demon and Fairy" counting for JulNoWriMo.

Demon and fairy part 5

So here is a new part of "Demon and fairy". I'm a bit behind on my words count but not too much I should be at 37,097 words by midnight tonight and so far I'm at 32833. Nothing unsurmountable really. Especially when you know that I finally find the solution to the thing that was getting on my nerves for days (weeks?) at work. That will help me relax and be able to concentrate fully on my writing during the week-end.
I still love this story even though Seti doesn't want to do what I want him too. That happens sometimes with character. He is maybe tired of having me on his back all the time. That's what I get for having a reincarnation of a god of Chaos as main character I suppose.
Well I brought some more demons in the story, you already know Sahel from Demon Soul and Evalynn who appears in there very briefly but I have a new one. He is a bit...hum... how could I say... well you will see by yourself.
Here is the story.

Demon and fairy part 4

Finally here is a consequent part of  "Demon and fairy" for you to read.
I think that writing this novel is a lot different than writing Demon Soul or Attic Mirror, I am just following Seti all the time giving few space to other characters and still developing them mostly according to their relation to Seti. I'm also using a lot of flashback, that give an other dimension to the story.  It is a really different vision of writing and I thing I have still a lot to explore in this matter. I'm getting more attached to Seti than to other characters ever before, probably because I'm spending so much time with him, I want to write all the time.
For the moment I'm writing a part that wasn't really planed but I will reach the planed part again really soon and I know that one is going to make me cry. Just thinking about it already did.

So far 21356 words, I'm right on track.

Demon and fairy part 3

"Demon and fairy" is progressing nicely. I have been writing everyday except one since th begining of the challenge and I'm almost alright with my word count for the moment. Well I'm 500 words behind but I'm expecting to solve that tonight. The day I didn't write was just after going to the aquarium, I took a 4 hours nap, I must have been really tired of my week.
Even if I have planed all the story before starting to write, this last part carried me to some unexpected event. Well as for Demon Soul I guess I just have to feel the blanks between the things I actually planed, but it's a bit painful to be annoying and torturing poor Seti. I feel a lot mote comfortable when writing happy things. I think I just have to hurry up my writing to reach a happier part of the story.

So far 9187 words :D

New Challenge JulNoWriMo

En français
On the first on July I decide to participate to a new writing challenge. My previous success for NaNoWriMo and other competition really motivated me to write more. Especially that today I successfully order the free proof copy of Demon Soul that NaNoWriMo allowed me to get as a winner.
The project I will be working on is "Demon and fairy" I already started few months ago but didn't go too far, by lack of time, concentration or wish, I don't know. But know I think it's time to give Seti a proper story. So here is the first part of the story that will count for Julnowrimo.

So far 4102 words :D
