Vampire Friday: Vampire Heart 186

Welcome to a new part of Vampire Heart unedited. Have you been bitten yet?Sign up to be part of our awesome Vampire Friday blog hop team! You know you want to!

Summary of the previous episodes: Viorel has been tortured by his supposed family who wanted to have him burn in the sun. Strangely enough the sun didn't burn him as expected but Viorel has no memory of who he is. Following the advises of his supposed father, he left Sighișoara and is now traveling to the West. After some skirmish in a previous city, he found refuge on a boat. Viorel is now in Vienna. The little problem is that the guy at the inn was a bit of an asshole and helped capture Viorel thinking he was a vampire, which he is but nobody needs to know. Now there is a huge man (which I call the colossi) taking care of Viorel and a priest. They brought a girl. Torture my holy water... Fail. Viorel managed to confuse everyone, now he would like to get out of here. But the girl seems pretty useless. They still managed to escape and he left the girl to the care of the boat lady before going back to have two words with his captors but his power of persuasion were failing him. The priest wanted to crack a deal but Viorel is not really up to help his enemies. He finally got some blood but he can't risk to stay in Vienna. He travel to Linz were he stays a bit to learn German.
Viorel wanted to go to Praha but redirect himself toward Augsburg instead where he wants to get a horse, except that the horses are a bit scared of his vampirism and maybe something else. Viorel is really not a horse expert. Then he comes into an altercation with couple of people, he wants some fear in his blood. The girl Viorel has found seemed to enjoy the game. Viorel prepares for the nightmares that come with a feast of blood, in a rush to leave, he cross the dukedom of Lorrain.
We introduced Sorina, three weeks after the beginning of Viorel's escape.
Viorel dreamed of Sorina and woke up not really remembering anything. Traveling to Paris, he arrives at "La cour des miracles". He is rescued by a stranger who turned out to be Nicolas Flamel, the alchemist he was looking for. Nicolas does some strange experiment without Viorel's agreement. Some people are looking for Nicolas's secrets. On the other side of Europe, Sorina awakes and Viorel's past in haunting him. Viorel discovered that he can change into a wolf but that's not the easiest thing to handle.

Now, let's continue with Vampire Heart, right where we left of last week

That thing is your thing Nicolas, I don’t need to know more and I don’t want to know more about it, I have seen what it does that’s enough for me,” I said trying to escape but his deep light blue eyes looking at me weren’t going to make things easy.
I know how you feel about the stone and I understood why went reading my old diaries,” he said.
I sigh sitting at the desk where the diary was still open, while Nicolas continued walking around the room as if it was helping him to organize his thoughts better. I had seen many humans do that and it annoyed the heck out of me. How was I supposed to concentrate on what they were saying if they kept on moving all around the place. It was distracting me but I knew that it was the last time so I let him speak.
I didn’t change,” he said making me gringe. “I am exactly who I used to be but the stone restored my energy and my actions are reflecting by this change of energy. You see for example I like to walk around the room like this when I’m thinking, it helps with blood flows and breathing, it’s good for the legs. I wanted to do it a lot when I was older but I couldn’t as it was more difficult for me to walk so I refrained and had to find little ways to get around it. I think a lot faster when I walk which means that my decisions might have seemed precipitated for you in comparison to what my old self would have done. The only thing that changed was my body and the energy feeling it which I am not yet able to use fully as a young person would do as I spend the last years of my life trying to save it. It has nothing to do with my ability to think and resonate. My knowledge is still the same. The stone helped my old cells to restore themselves but my brain remained untouched, the brain is a part of the body with no regenerating abilities that I know of.”

Thursday Fiction 180: Parallel Slip

Welcome back to a new part of Parallel Slip, where we follow the adventures of Frederique through her slip in different parallel universes.

Let's start right where we left off last week.

Of course, the cleaning had already started, there were so many workers in the room that I didn't know how they could actually work and all the evidence of the sabotage had probably be tempered with. I squatted near a pilled of ashes and burned plastic looking for something without knowing what.
"I can take over now," said a voice in my head.
I looked around not sure if I was hearing clearly, if someone was their or if I was imagining it. But my vision blurb before I could really react. I opened my eyes to see the light of the cars from the nearby road cast on the ceiling of my room through the holes around the curtains. I was back and somehow it felt like Michelle had just thrown me away out of her body. I shook my head and closed my eyes a second to make sure I wasn't dreaming.
I heard that voice, I was sure of it. I stood up and went to the desk to take my notebook. There was a lot I had to write. Questions without answer and any small attempt to answer anything leaded to more questions. I thought about calling my dad but I happened slept and it was three in the morning. I wasn't feeling tired but he would probably freak out having a call so late, early. I didn't know what to do. So I decided to stop looking for answers. That might seem very strange but there are moment in life when you have to stop fighting and just go with the flow and the flow right now was to do what I had to do in this world. I opened my first book on electromagnetism and started reading. Though I couldn't help my mind from going back to the spaceship second machine room. What was Michelle finding there while I was here reading. Why did I get into her body and was she really the one talking to me? I needed to talk to my dad and I had the feeling that this time any version would do.

Wednesday Snippet 183: Blue Angel

Welcome to a new part of Blue Angel unedited, we start right where we left off last time.

The old woman looked at him and at Torsti in turn before going back to the television set and pointed at a board on the other side of the counter where keys were hanged up.
“Put your money in the blue box over there and don't try to open it and screw with me, you'd be surprise. Get your key anyone on the second row will do, the stairs are on the right,” she said.
Torsti looked at Odeon raising a questioning eyebrow, his brother pushed him on the right side toward the stairs before putting a bill in the blue box and picking a key.
“She didn't ask any questions,” Torsti said climbing the stairs, “she didn't even tell us the price of the room.”
“She knows better,” Odeon answered. They could hear someone snoring from the corridor leading to their room.
“I never told you that but I don't like this city, it's the most broken place I ever saw,” Torsti said. Odeon didn't answer, he walked to the window and tried to adjust the curtains to avoid being seen from outside. There as nobody in the street but he knew that wouldn't last. The hunters were still out there somewhere and probably already searching for the god who escaped.
“I'll take a shower first,” Torsti said. “Damn, there is no towels.”
“You're a demon, you don't need one,” Odeon answered. He suddenly felt bad for feeling like playing and laughing with Torsti when Lonan was gone.
“I could still use some luxury,” Torsti answered.
The water was getting out of the shower in irregular wave of water and Odeon could hear Torsti grumbling unhappily. This was the worse place possible and still the safer one. He sat near the window looking outside hiding behind the curtains. He was sleepy but he had slept enough. Now it was time for action.

WeWriWar 257: Demon Soul

Welcome to a new excerpt of DEMON SOUL for the Weekend Writing Warrior and Snippet Sunday

Pre-Plot:
Brownie is a normal girl, or so she thinks. She likes to chat with her sisters about random things, she likes fashion and she is member of the fashion club at school. But one day, as her little brother gets really sick because of a curse placed on him, she meets this really strange guy who cures him absorbing the baby's sickness within himself. As he is about to fall from his new acquired fever, Brownie sees Yue's soul and immediately falls in love with him. But Yue is not a human, Yue is a demon.
Brownie and Yue will built their love story until....

Plot:
Until Yue's soul is stolen. There is nothing left of their love. The purple light dancing in Yue's grey eyes is gone. Forever? Not quite. Brownie is desperate to find it back. And to get a soul stolen by demons, she needs to go deep into dark magic! But Brownie is not a witch, she is just looking for a spell powerful enough to bring her love back. When an amateur starts playing with strong magic without preparation and without caring for the consequences, things turn wrong...

Let's start right where we left off.

During the past few weeks her nightmares had kept her awake so she had become an early riser. So many things had changed… Three purple candles, two white candles, cinnamon incense, olibanum incense, patchouli incense, coconut incense and one apple… after that the list looked more or less like a cooking list.
The olibanum incense would be the more difficult to find but she already knew how to find it.

Once as they were shopping together, Yue had taken her to a very dark and narrow street that was barely visible from a bright large street in the city centre.
“I’m taking you here because I need stuff but don’t you ever come here alone,” he said.
At first she had laughed but she soon understood why. The place was full of dark creatures, even worse than demons. With Yue she had no need to worry, but a human here alone would not live long enough to tell anyone about this place.
