WeWriWar 254: Demon Soul

Welcome to a new excerpt of DEMON SOUL for the Weekend Writing Warrior and Snippet Sunday

Pre-Plot:
Brownie is a normal girl, or so she thinks. She likes to chat with her sisters about random things, she likes fashion and she is member of the fashion club at school. But one day, as her little brother gets really sick because of a curse placed on him, she meets this really strange guy who cures him absorbing the baby's sickness within himself. As he is about to fall from his new acquired fever, Brownie sees Yue's soul and immediately falls in love with him. But Yue is not a human, Yue is a demon.
Brownie and Yue will built their love story until....

Plot:
Until Yue's soul is stolen. There is nothing left of their love. The purple light dancing in Yue's grey eyes is gone. Forever? Not quite. Brownie is desperate to find it back. And to get a soul stolen by demons, she needs to go deep into dark magic! But Brownie is not a witch, she is just looking for a spell powerful enough to bring her love back. When an amateur starts playing with strong magic without preparation and without caring for the consequences, things turn wrong...

Let's start right where we left off.

She suddenly closed the book and started to weep again. It was all lies, the Dark Side never protected him. She was the one protecting him and she had failed. The Dark Side just wanted to take over his body, to make him disappear. It was vile and nasty, and it betrayed him until the very last moment.

She took the second book and read through the table of contents. She needed to stop having bad thoughts and to concentrate. And here it was, on chapter eight.

Vampire Friday: Vampire Heart 182

Welcome to a new part of Vampire Heart unedited. Have you been bitten yet?Sign up to be part of our awesome Vampire Friday blog hop team! You know you want to!

Summary of the previous episodes: Viorel has been tortured by his supposed family who wanted to have him burn in the sun. Strangely enough the sun didn't burn him as expected but Viorel has no memory of who he is. Following the advises of his supposed father, he left Sighișoara and is now traveling to the West. After some skirmish in a previous city, he found refuge on a boat. Viorel is now in Vienna. The little problem is that the guy at the inn was a bit of an asshole and helped capture Viorel thinking he was a vampire, which he is but nobody needs to know. Now there is a huge man (which I call the colossi) taking care of Viorel and a priest. They brought a girl. Torture my holy water... Fail. Viorel managed to confuse everyone, now he would like to get out of here. But the girl seems pretty useless. They still managed to escape and he left the girl to the care of the boat lady before going back to have two words with his captors but his power of persuasion were failing him. The priest wanted to crack a deal but Viorel is not really up to help his enemies. He finally got some blood but he can't risk to stay in Vienna. He travel to Linz were he stays a bit to learn German.
Viorel wanted to go to Praha but redirect himself toward Augsburg instead where he wants to get a horse, except that the horses are a bit scared of his vampirism and maybe something else. Viorel is really not a horse expert. Then he comes into an altercation with couple of people, he wants some fear in his blood. The girl Viorel has found seemed to enjoy the game. Viorel prepares for the nightmares that come with a feast of blood, in a rush to leave, he cross the dukedom of Lorrain.
We introduced Sorina, three weeks after the beginning of Viorel's escape.
Viorel dreamed of Sorina and woke up not really remembering anything. Traveling to Paris, he arrives at "La cour des miracles". He is rescued by a stranger who turned out to be Nicolas Flamel, the alchemist he was looking for. Nicolas does some strange experiment without Viorel's agreement. Some people are looking for Nicolas's secrets. On the other side of Europe, Sorina awakes and Viorel's past in haunting him. Viorel discovered that he can change into a wolf but that's not the easiest thing to handle.

Now, let's continue with Vampire Heart, right where we left of last week

Then there are things we need to do before you leave, it’s not much but I thought I would have a lot more time to prepare. Can’t you stay a few more days?” Nicolas asked.
Every minute I stay here is one more putting you and Perenelle in danger,” I answered.
It was not entirely true, during the day there was no way anyone would recognize me as a vampire. I just wanted to get out of here as soon as possible. The long good bye were definitely not my style. I suddenly felt the taste of adventure fill my mouth, it had been so long since last time I had taken the road, I definitely needed something new. I had this huge impression that there was nothing really left for me here, as if all I had really done was to hide from the vampire and from myself all this time. I needed to find my answers and they weren’t in this house anymore.
How will you travel?” Nicolas asked.
With my horse,” I answered.
That old thing won’t get you near past the end of the city. You better get a new one and a carriage,” Nicolas said.
I didn’t think about the carriage but I had thought about getting a second horse, this time I needed two. The carriage suddenly sound like a good idea. I knew I wasn’t the best horse rider in the country even though I had trained more than my bottom was willing to disclose.
I’ll get a carriage,” I said.
You better get going and come back as soon as you can,” Nicolas said.
I finished my bread but didn’t touch my hot chocolate, the smell of it was making me feel nauseous. I went back to change my shirt before leaving. There was nothing more suspicious than a man with blood on his collar.

Thursday Fiction 176: Parallel Slip

Welcome back to a new part of Parallel Slip, where we follow the adventures of Frederique through her slip in different parallel universes.

Let's start right where we left off last week.

"Captain I think that there are things that can't be said about," I followed Clara's gaze to a security camera. It was hidden in the wall of the ship and made me suddenly feel exposed, "the engine, the way the ship is moving is a bit different but not much and we can probably make in to Antares still."
"Right, but I'm still worried that what happened to the second engine might happen to the first," I said.
"You're a mechanic expert captain, you can figure it out," Debby said.
We had to keep the conversation formal. How many of those camera where there, where was safe, what was I supposed to do? I had no idea about spaceship mechanics, where I came from, there weren't any spaceships to begin with.
"Do you know why I come here only when there is a problem?" I asked them.
Debby and Clara looked at each other and I could see that they were confused about what I meant but I didn't know how to explain myself better. I wasn't thinking about coming here as in to the second engine room. I meant coming here as in going to other universe to solve the problem in which my other selves found themselves even if they were supposed to have a lot more insight on the situation then I had. I mean I was here in on board of a spaceship and there was no way I was going to know what to do from personal experiences and still, I was here.
"Don't you come here because you want to?" Debby said.

Wednesday Snippet 179: Blue Angel

Welcome to a new part of Blue Angel unedited, we start right where we left off last time.

Torsti was the first to wake up. He didn't like climbing trees much so he had been sleeping on the floor again and his clothes were wet with dew. He sight and tried not to breath too deeply, he needed a shower, he needed breakfast and he needed to shake Odeon. They had been walking in the forest and sleeping there with barely enough food to survive since they had escaped the fight in the Hunter's cave. He was sad that Lonan was not with them any longer too but damn they couldn't go on like that. He had never expected Odeon to became such a mess, one day of mourning was something, two days were more than enough but now it had to stop. Plus, there was a chance that Lonan was still alive and they couldn't take it by staying in a lethargic stay walking randomly all day, they needed a plan and a good one. But first of all, food.
Torsti rised his hammer and hit up the tree, a wave propagated along the trunk and the branches cracked. He had been gentle, to make sure the tree itself was going to stay standing. Leaved started to fall around him followed by the heavy sleepy body of his elder brother. He was expecting him to yell, before Lonan's disappearance, he would have. Bur now, things were different. Odeon sat on the floor stroking his head and pulling out his wings. He didn't say anything, he didn't look at Torsti he just yawned and sat there while Torsti waited for something to happen, a reaction, something, anything.
“We need food,” he finally said.
