NaNoWriMo Vlog Day 22: THE WIN!

In this video I talk about winning NaNoWriMo by reaching 50k words.
I also show you the winner page with all the goodies and so you can see what happens when you win.
At first the damn NaNoWriMo word eating monster of hell actually eat my words like 247 words less than on my writing software so I had to add a few more to get the win.
In this video you'll see the fail at validating my word count the first time and the final win.
Enjoy!

Here is the video

Vampire Friday: Vampire Heart 148

Welcome to a new part of Vampire Heart unedited. Have you been bitten yet?Sign up to be part of our awesome Vampire Friday blog hop team! You know you want to!

Summary of the previous episodes: Viorel has been tortured by his supposed family who wanted to have him burn in the sun. Strangely enough the sun didn't burn him as expected but Viorel has no memory of who he is. Following the advises of his supposed father, he left Sighișoara and is now traveling to the West. After some skirmish in a previous city, he found refuge on a boat. Viorel is now in Vienna. The little problem is that the guy at the inn was a bit of an asshole and helped capture Viorel thinking he was a vampire, which he is but nobody needs to know. Now there is a huge man (which I call the colossi) taking care of Viorel and a priest. They brought a girl. Torture my holy water... Fail. Viorel managed to confuse everyone, now he would like to get out of here. But the girl seems pretty useless. They still managed to escape and he left the girl to the care of the boat lady before going back to have two words with his captors but his power of persuasion were failing him. The priest wanted to crack a deal but Viorel is not really up to help his enemies. He finally got some blood but he can't risk to stay in Vienna. He travel to Linz were he stays a bit to learn German.
Viorel wanted to go to Praha but redirect himself toward Augsburg instead where he wants to get a horse, except that the horses are a bit scared of his vampirism and maybe something else. Viorel is really not a horse expert. Then he comes into an altercation with couple of people, he wants some fear in his blood. The girl Viorel has found seemed to enjoy the game. Viorel prepares for the nightmares that come with a feast of blood, in a rush to leave, he cross the dukedom of Lorrain.
We introduced Sorina, three weeks after the beginning of Viorel's escape.
Viorel dreamed of Sorina and woke up not really remembering anything. Traveling to Paris, he arrives at "La cour des miracles". He is rescued by a stranger who turned out to be Nicolas Flamel, the alchemist he was looking for. Nicolas does some strange experiment without Viorel's agreement. Some people are looking for Nicolas's secrets. On the other side of Europe, Sorina awakes and Viorel's past in haunting him. Viorel discovered that he can change into a wolf but that's not the easiest thing to handle.

Now, let's continue with Vampire Heart, right where we left of last week

“It’s ok, you’ll only be the fourth vampire I’ll kill tonight”, I said picking my sword in the rest of the skull of his companion and throwing his head at him.
He caught it and looked at it for an instant. His smiled disappeared and his lips curled into a rictus letting his long fangs appear. They were still taint with the blood of the victims. He was infuriated, and ran toward me. He might not have noticed it because he was still strong but he was slightly slower and blood was leaking from where I had left the knife. He tried to grab me between his arms but I lowered myself to roll on the floor toward my knife and cut his leg with my sword in the process. He turned around pointing his sword towards me I stood up too slowly and was caught in the shoulder. His blade was cold and thick, I lowered myself again to escape it as he was pulling it away ready to dig it in my again. I rolled under the table, he smashed it with his sword twice before deciding that it was useless and that the table wouldn’t broke so easily, it was a good thick table and I was grateful for it. I let myself breathe a little. I realised that I still hadn’t taken a single breathe since he had entered the house, the air feeling my lungs felt heavy on my injured shoulder but I couldn’t let it stop me.
He lowered himself a hand on the table to look at me and swept the floor with his blade. I pushed the chairs to escape on the other side and jumped on the table. He was fast up too and swept the table with his sword. This time, I didn’t jump, I blocked his sword walking on it. He tried to pull it away from me almost making me lose balance but I put most of my weight on it and dive my sword toward his face forcing him to leave the sword and draw back. It was already a win for me but I couldn’t rejoice myself so easily. I tried to push the blade on the other side of the table with my feet but it was so heavy that it barely move. It made him laugh. I could feel the blood leaking against my left arm, there was no way I could carry the blade with it, I was going to get weak soon, I needed the fight to end.

Thursday Fiction 142: Parallel Slip

Welcome back to a new part of Parallel Slip, where we follow the adventure of Frederique through her slip in different parallel universes.

Let's start right where we left off last week.

The office was empty. We were sitting on cushioned chairs in the waiting room for the front desk to open. Amy was telling me what classes she needed to ask for and how it would fit in her schedule. It would definitely be tight but just as much as my own schedule.
"Do you think Alex is right?" Amy asked.
"No," I answered.
"I mean do you think that'S too much."
I showed her my own calendar and she let out a oh.
"Is Alex's that packed too?"
"We've got the same except that I sneak in second and third year's classes for the thrill," I said.
"I see," she said. "Does it work?" She pointed at the books I had left on the next chair.
"I need to read them all as fast as possible as if they were novels and if I have some time left take notes and then do some exercises. It works just fine. Normally, it's called cramming and people do that just before exams to use their short term memory as a help. I do it first hand so that I have the knowledge in my head before the teacher can give me inputs. That way anything that comes feels familiar, I can go straight to the exercises without spending too much time on the lecture notes."
"But why do it on a part you hate?" She asked.
"That's the fun part, I might stop hating it half way but I wouldn't know until I study it and if I still hate it, I won't have to spend my time hating the homework for hours, I'll do them much faster with this knowledge," I said.
"That makes sense."
"What can I help you with?"
The secretary was a plumb woman with her probably long hair attached at the base of her neck in a lazy bun. She had a large smile as if helping students with their inquiry was her vocation in life and what she lived for. I had never seen someone looking that happy to be at work.
"I need to registered for some extra classes," Amy said.
"A change of heart?" the secretary asked.
"Not really, more like starting to listen to it," Amy answered.
"You have no idea how many kids register to classes just to stay with their friends until they make new one ans wanna change," the secretary said. "So you too wanna be together?"

Wednesday Snippet: Demon World 146

Welcome to a new part of Demon World unedited, we start right where we left off last time.

Gideon was looking at the wall wondering what the boundary of friendship was. He was also afraid for Brownie but it didn’t mean that he would have sent other people to get hurt to get her back. But he knew he had just done it and somehow the idea repulsed him even thought they were demons. He had learned long ago that where you were coming from and what you were supposed to be didn’t really apply, especially in this house.
“Can’t we do something to help?” he said.
“We’ve already done enough, they could have flew there but it was interesting to open the vortex, it’s my first”, Viorel said.
Gideon looked at him puzzled. No matter what was happening around he would never change, no worries, no extreme fear or join or feeling was ever to be seen on the vampire’s face.
“Tell me how to go there”, Gideon said.
“No”, Viorel answered.
“I want to get Brownie back as much as they do, and I can protect myself, tell me how to get there”, Gideon said again.
“You know how to protect yourself, la la la”, Dylan said singing coming closer to Gideon liking his upper lips.
Gideon was unimpressed.
“So…” he said.
