WeWriWar 229: Demon Soul

Welcome to a new excerpt for the Weekend Writing Warrior and Snippet Sunday.
When Demon Soul first came out, it wasn't really in it's best form.
It is the first book of my Demon Series and the First book of The House at The Crossing cluster. I have written a lot of the other books in the series, I have about 6 so far, but I haven't gone to publishing them mostly because I wasn't happy with the quality of Demon Soul and Demon and Fairy. So I wanted to have something that look better and that I could be proud of  before getting the other books out.
I decided to redo Demon Soul with a brand new edit and a brand new cover.
The book is almost ready and the professional cover should arrive next month so I though I could start here with a few snippet until the cover reveal and the new publishing.

Enjoy!

Let's start right were we left off last week

"You make me feel strange," Yue had said. "It's normal for a demon to feel unloved".
Brownie had promised to make him feel loved every day and that made him laugh. But now it was all gone, this time it was different.

When Yue came back after one more fight that night, he didn't rush through the window, he calmly knocked at the door and apologised for the trouble he caused. Something broke in her heart, she instinctively knew that something was wrong but she couldn't put a name on it. For the next few days, he acted like a ghost and had violent crises due to headaches. When she wanted to help, he pushed her away and started to space their meetings.

Nendoroid Box Opening and Review: Aqua, Kono Suba (with video)

Today with me I have Aqua from Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo!
She is a goddess of water. She used to judge humans and send them to the RPG world but Kazuma dragged her with him. She is powerful against undead but she has very bad luck. She also likes wine a lot.
I really like this nendoroid because she has blue hair like a lot of my other nendoroid (army of snow Miku). She also goes with Megumin from the same anime.
I haven't got Darkness and Yunyun yet and I'm not sure if I'll get them or not. I would love a nendoroid Kazuma though.

Here is the video

And here are some pictures

NaNoWriMo Vlog Day 2: She looked like an angry pufferfish

Of course I have been writing today. I managed to reach 5452 words. That cover the 5000 words I should reach on day 2 and the 2500 daily words and gives me about 100 extra.
I really wanted to push a bit more but I had no time after dinner. I still have half of my blog to work through. I really wish I could work when someone else is in the room, that would help a lot because as soon as Ikki comes home I can't do anything anymore except maybe read and crochet.
So yeah no video filming and no writing after dinner unless he goes to bed before me. I need to find a way to schedule things so that I'm not so frustrated with being unable to work when he is around.

Vampire Friday: Vampire Heart 145

Welcome to a new part of Vampire Heart unedited. Have you been bitten yet?Sign up to be part of our awesome Vampire Friday blog hop team! You know you want to!

Summary of the previous episodes: Viorel has been tortured by his supposed family who wanted to have him burn in the sun. Strangely enough the sun didn't burn him as expected but Viorel has no memory of who he is. Following the advises of his supposed father, he left Sighișoara and is now traveling to the West. After some skirmish in a previous city, he found refuge on a boat. Viorel is now in Vienna. The little problem is that the guy at the inn was a bit of an asshole and helped capture Viorel thinking he was a vampire, which he is but nobody needs to know. Now there is a huge man (which I call the colossi) taking care of Viorel and a priest. They brought a girl. Torture my holy water... Fail. Viorel managed to confuse everyone, now he would like to get out of here. But the girl seems pretty useless. They still managed to escape and he left the girl to the care of the boat lady before going back to have two words with his captors but his power of persuasion were failing him. The priest wanted to crack a deal but Viorel is not really up to help his enemies. He finally got some blood but he can't risk to stay in Vienna. He travel to Linz were he stays a bit to learn German.
Viorel wanted to go to Praha but redirect himself toward Augsburg instead where he wants to get a horse, except that the horses are a bit scared of his vampirism and maybe something else. Viorel is really not a horse expert. Then he comes into an altercation with couple of people, he wants some fear in his blood. The girl Viorel has found seemed to enjoy the game. Viorel prepares for the nightmares that come with a feast of blood, in a rush to leave, he cross the dukedom of Lorrain.
We introduced Sorina, three weeks after the beginning of Viorel's escape.
Viorel dreamed of Sorina and woke up not really remembering anything. Traveling to Paris, he arrives at "La cour des miracles". He is rescued by a stranger who turned out to be Nicolas Flamel, the alchemist he was looking for. Nicolas does some strange experiment without Viorel's agreement. Some people are looking for Nicolas's secrets. On the other side of Europe, Sorina awakes and Viorel's past in haunting him. Viorel discovered that he can change into a wolf but that's not the easiest thing to handle.

Now, let's continue with Vampire Heart, right where we left of last week

He groaned a bit like a bear as well, he was making brusque movement and pushing the chairs around to get to me. He didn’t jump lightly above the sofa but walked on it as it it were stairs making in fall behind him but it didn’t seem to bother him much.
“We have been looking for you to take you home”, he said.
He hadn’t drowned out his sword yet but I could see it hanging at his side. He seemed a lot heavier that I had suspected from seeing him walk in the street, maybe this was his battle style.
“And I’m not ready to go home yet”, I said.
“Too bad, I heard that someone was waiting for you”, he said. “She might have changed a lot by now, becoming one of us.”
“Sorina”, I said.
“Cute little one wasn’t she, I wish I didn’t have to leave, I would have loved to play with her like the others”, he said.
He was trying to get me mad and it was working.
“If you attack first, you are sure to lose, know your enemy”, I heard the words of my father as I crossed my blade with his. The sound of the metal against metal, we weren’t playing, this training wasn’t like the other, I was mad, someone had drove me overboard and I wanted to hurt I wanted to cut someone into piece to feel the blood.
“Use your anger to enhance the strength of your attack, use it to increase your speed, not to rush into action”, my father said. “Getting yourself killed is not going to help you feel better, stay focus on your goal.”
My father had been trying to direct my anger, not to calm it down. We had fought until day time, the slaved had pulled on the curtains and we had fought again. It was an endless battle, there hadn’t been any hunting that night or the night before, I had fought with myself more than with him he had been the one holding the sword up against me for me to master my anger.
