Japan : Back to Asakusa

Last Mai, just as I did the before, I went to Asakusa festival, walked from the gate to the temple, met a friend at his shop, took pictures of star cats and enjoyed the festival street food.
In Mai there are always a lot of festivals around Asakusa and they are interesting to look at.
I hope you'll enjoy the little tour of it through this video.

Physics : Paper on a new topic

It has been a long time since the last update on my research. The research previously discussed on the

CLF annual report 2009-2010 post has been pursued further leading to the publication of my first PRA paper last July. It explains in details the theory behind the "Molecular Siegert states in an electric field". We developed the Siegert states method applied to molecular system and obtained orientation-dependent and electric field-dependent energies and ionization rates for the ground state and degenerate first excited states of H₂⁺. The  results are compared with energies obtained from perturbation theory and

 the ionization rates obtained from the recently developed asymptotic theory.

Of course, I couldn't go to Korea without trying the delicious (and spicy) Korean food.
So here is a melting pot of the food I have tasted, I'm sure you can guess what is my favorite and if not, wait for the end.

Etsy craft party

Tonight, I went to the Etsy craft party at the Fab café in Shinsen. It was really interesting. We were offered different craft activities from Etsy shop owners to make our own creations. I decided to make some plastic engraved goldfishes.
First we would choose the fishes' shape, then design the inside (or us an already designed pattern) then we would put colors using transparent stickers on the plastic plate. The plate would then go to a laser drawing machine that would engraved the white part of the fishes and cut the shape. 

I designed the two smaller fishes myself and used the normal pattern for the big one. I'm really happy with the result.

Korea : the way back to Seoul

On the way back to Seoul I tried to take several picture of the landscape. Korea is really filled with mountains everywhere I had been.  We stopped in Daegu which I didn't visit this time but plan on visiting next time I will go to Korea. I still have a lot to discover about this wonderful country.

Korea, Gyeongju : museum and traditional wedding

I then went back to the city center, I had first planned to go to the expo park but it was a bit far away from the bed and breakfast where I had let my bag. The father of the owner took me back to the bus station to get my ticket back to Seoul but I still had two hours left before taking the bus so we went to the National Museum where a guide explained me about the different meaning of the piece of pottery and jewelery in the museum, it seems that a lot was related to fertility and to longevity, probably due to the fact that people were dying young at that time. Then we went to the site of a traditional Korean wedding before going back to the bus terminal.
