Korea : introduction

During the golden week, I visited South Korea for the first time. My Korean tour lasted 10 days. During that time I visited Seoul, Daejeon, Slept in Mokpo before taking the ferry for Jeju island, visited Jeju island, went back to Mokpo by ferry, took the bus to Busan, visited Gyeongju before going back to Seoul and take the plane back to Japan.

During this trip, I visited a lot of interesting sites and cities, had a taste of Korean culture and food and met a lot of interesting people. 

The following posts will tell my adventures in this new country.

Japan : 長瀞川

After visiting the 羊山公園 (Hitsujiyama koen) we took the train to 長瀞町 (Nagatoro). We wanted to take the boat along the 長瀞川 (Nagatorogawa) but we arrived too late as the last boat leaves at 3.30pm. So we walked along the river until the next station instead. It was a very nice and sunny day and the landscape was really beautiful.

Japan : 羊山公園

Today I went to 羊山公園 with my friend they have a sibazakura blooming in this period and it was very beautiful even though we were a little bit late to see the complete blooming. The flowers have different colors and the color were used to make shapes on the ground. We kinda stayed wondering why flower were blooming in some area and not in others, but despite our different solutions, that will have to stay a mystery.

Japan : Visit of JAXA

JAXA, the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency opens the doors of it's laboratory to the public once a year and this year it was on the 22th of April and I went there after spending the night at the Karaoke. They have exposition that are opened to the public all year long but the main attractions were the discovery of the laboratories and the wind tunnels and aerospace machinery parts. They organized games for children, stamps rally and you could get into one of the wind tunnel, very strong wind guarantied.

Japan : 花見

The next week-end we went back to the Nogawa river side for a barbecue. It is very common to have barbecue under the blossoming cherry trees in at this time in Japan even though the air is still a bit fresh. We were very lucky because the weather was nice even though it had been raining a lot the day before. The sakura trees were looking as beautiful as ever.

Japan : 花見イルミネーション

On the 10th of April, I went to the (花見イルミネーション) cherry blossom illuminations with my friend on the Nogawa river side. I had already been there 2 years ago and last year, the event had been canceled due to the earthquake. The particularity this year was that the illumination was made in different colors.

Garden

Few months ago I decided to start a garden in my room so I bought few seeds and a tulip and I made a video about planting them. It's kind of funny because I'm talking to the camera event though nothing else really happens in the movie, so I prepared a less boring speed up version. Anyway, my tulip grew really really big and bloomed and then the pedals sadly felt. The mind is still growing nicely. The roses were growing nicely too even though the roses didn't make any flowers but then I went away to Korea and they dried up sadly, I'm trying to  revive them up but I don't have much hopes. My lavender didn't really start, well only one seed started to grow something but it's turned sadly brown, I guess it was not getting enough sunlight, you see it's kinda dark in the room with the really rainy weather outside and I can't put the plants out because of the cat... so there was no lavender for me, then it started growing when I was in Korea but kinda died on the day I came back, maybe the lavender doesn't like me.
