Thursday Fiction 423: Parallel Slip 2: Rebel

Welcome back to a new Thursday Fiction, it's been a while. We continue with Parallel Slip 2: Rebel where we left of last time, following Isabelle as she figure out who she really is.

“I don't know. I'm not sure how magic really works yet,” Romulus said.

“Yeah,” Isabelle said a bit bitterly.

Romulus acted like he had all the answers but he didn't and that was rather annoying. She followed him to the bathroom on the second floor. The stairs were made of wood too but not the creaking kind and not the kind with the gap on the vertical side either, it was strong and sturdy and somehow reassuring. There were windows everywhere in the second floor's corridor, not a single shadow. Isabelle wondered if Eric's grand-father had been a really good architect or maybe a little bit scared of the dark. There was no place to hide either. The bathroom was the last room at the end of the corridor. It was completely white which really changed compared to the wood color of the rest of the house but everything was made of wood too. Romulus made her sat on the side of the bathtub and took a stool to sit in front of her. Isabelle tried to remember Romulus's real self with the orange hair and all when he took her hand to take away the gauze.

Wednesday Snippet 425: Fairy World 66

Welcome back to Wednesday Snippet. This week, we continue with Fairy World unedited just where we left off last week

"Be careful what you wish for," the dark shadow answered.

"I know that better than anyone else," Brownie said pushing the book she had been reading earlier toward him, "with material wishes, I'm pretty safe. Take a look at this one, on the grounding part."

"Are you sure you can trust me for the safety measure, you don't want a vampire instead," the shadow said.

"Not that you'll be the one grounding me but if you say it sucks I'll sure want to use it," Brownie answered laughing.

"This is why I hate humans," the dark shadow said. "This sucks!"

"Read it first and you'll be more convincing," Brownie answered.

The dark shadow at least pretended to turn the pages with his same monotonous breathing like rhythm.

Tuesday Travel 221: Witch Raising: The Book of Earth 68

Welcome to Tuesday Travel. This week we are following Brownie on her journey as she is going toward the second element: Earth.

About Witch Raising.

Witch Raising is a new series with Brownie, the heroine of Demon Soul as the main character. This series is part of the House at the Crossing Series and follows Demon Soul and Demon and Fairy but instead of being centered on the adventure of Sahel and his demon friends, it follows Brownie as she goes from being a normal girl to a bad ass witch. She has been practicing magick for a while now, saving people from difficult situations but the people at the house, including Sahel aren't happy with her new calling. Feeling that she doesn't have a choice and has to keep learning witchcraft, Brownie leaves to meet other witches.

The excerpt starts right where we left off last week.

“I'm afraid I'm not carrying it with me during lunch time,” Brownie said.

“So who are you with? Do any of you know her?”

People looked at each other, they seemed afraid but they didn't say anything until.

“I don't know her,” a guy said. He was under the scrutiny of the other man and Brownie felt sorry for him, blood had leaked in a puddle near his seat.

“I'm with professor Henry Fliggerty,” Brownie said.

“Oh, I know the professor, it's true, I saw this girl with him earlier,” a woman said on her left.

Brownie was grateful for that.

Mystery Monday 218: Murder at the Conference 115

Hello mystery lovers and welcome to a new Mystery Monday.
I hope you had a great week-end. Here is a new little part of Murder at the Conference. Murder at the Conference is a stand alone sequel to Harajuku Kiss.

We start right were we left off last week:

I looked at her again. It was written all over her face, that she didn't believe anything I said, that she wouldn't listen and that she wouldn't let it go either.

“Christa, it's not only about Seiji, it's about everything you say. You haven't said anything nice in weeks. You can't even say good morning, and that says a lot.”

“I can't believe you are in such denial that you are trying to pin all your problems on me.”

I pulled my bag out from under the seat in front of me. Took out a book and Seiji's ipod. He had made me a special music playlist for the trip, I still hadn't a single clue what it was.

“So that's how it's going to be? Every time a conversation doesn't go your way you are going to turn a deaf ear?”

“Until you accept that your words have negative consequences on my well being, I will have to,” I said.

“You're being ridiculous!”

I put on my earphones and started Seiji's play list so that I didn't have to listen to her anymore. Christa pulled my right earphone out of my ears.
