Thursday Fiction 400: Parallel Slip 2: Rebel

Welcome back to a new Thursday Fiction, it's been a while. We continue with Parallel Slip 2: Rebel where we left of last time, following Isabelle as she figure out who she really is.

She looked at her wrist and at the blade wondering how Romulus had planed to help her get rid of whatever was in there. Had he also expected her to open her skin after Clara had looked for those things. They seemed to be moving, trying to go up her arm. It was now or never.

Isabelle took a deep breath and cut, just above the bump. It was painful. She concentrated mostly of not hitting a blood vessel but the blood started to flow out and she couldn't figure out if she had hit one or not. She let the blade fall on the floor and tried to stop the blood, pressing on the cut with her towel. That's when she saw it. The bump was getting smaller and the blood was mixed with another liquid, not red this one, it was grey and glittering.

“My robot blood,” Isabelle thought.

It looked like it was made of metal, she wondered what sort of damage metal could cause in her body. Maybe if her behavior was as erratic as her mother described it it wasn't her fault and actually caused by all the thing they had put in her. It flowed with the blood on her towel and then turned into a ball. Little pieces kept on coming toward it, some from higher in her arms through her skin away from the cut making small perforation wounds.

Wednesday Snippet 402: Fairy World 43

Welcome back to Wednesday Snippet. This week, we continue with Fairy World unedited just where we left off last week

"Do I really have to wear this?" She asked more as a rhetorical question than anything else.

"Think of it as camouflage," Amarelis said, kneeling near the fairy trying to find the key in his pocket.

"Camouflage, hum," Deborah said taking off her shirt to pass on the dress. She was feeling so out of place, in this room, in this world, in this dress. She had to get out of here before growing wings and being unable to fight for herself, she looked at Amarelis and chuckled. If she had been in the angel world still, she would have been as hopeless. If she had been in front of Ezechiel just now, instead of those guys, she would never had been able to fight. She was still trembling inside from daring to leave him. She wondered if he thought about her, if he wanted to find her and what he would do to her if he did.

"Are you alright?" Amarelis said.

"Yeah," Deborah answered trying to zip herself up. Why did dresses always needed to be zipped? It was so inconvenient.

Tuesday Travel 198: Witch Raising: The Book of Earth 45

Welcome to Tuesday Travel. This week we are following Brownie on her journey as she is going toward the second element: Earth.

About Witch Raising.

Witch Raising is a new series with Brownie, the heroine of Demon Soul as the main character. This series is part of the House at the Crossing Series and follows Demon Soul and Demon and Fairy but instead of being centered on the adventure of Sahel and his demon friends, it follows Brownie as she goes from being a normal girl to a bad ass witch. She has been practicing magick for a while now, saving people from difficult situations but the people at the house, including Sahel aren't happy with her new calling. Feeling that she doesn't have a choice and has to keep learning witchcraft, Brownie leaves to meet other witches.

The excerpt starts right where we left off last week.

“It's always old men talking about dirt and their wife talking about the university banquets they attend or their children,” She turned to Brownie. “We do not have children.”

“But you attend a lot of university banquets,” the professor answered with an amused face.

“Which I can't talk about because of course I'm so lucky to have all that free times due to lack of children,” Margarethe answered.

“I am a literature professor. I do research at the university... like their husbands,” Margarethe said to Brownie. She seemed to want to show that she wasn't just staying idle at home.

Brownie didn't really understand what was the problem with children and talking about them. She had a lot of little siblings, they were annoying and they were also really cute but since that wasn't a topic of interest in this case she refrained to make any comments on the matter.

“And what are you studying?” She asked.

Mystery Monday 195: Murder at the Conference 92

Hello mystery lovers and welcome to a new Mystery Monday.
I hope you had a great week-end. Here is a new little part of Murder at the Conference. Murder at the Conference is a stand alone sequel to Harajuku Kiss.

We start right were we left off last week:

My approach to food was very simple, just eat whatever you like and you should be fine. Yeah, I had been gaining weight but that was a problem of quantities, if I went back to lower the amount of food I ate it should all fall back to normal, theoretically.

“I thought you were on a diet,” she said.

“I am, sort of.”

“Seriously, skinny girls like you are always pretending to be on a diet but never actually are. Dieting is hard work. You have to stick to the plan, you can't eat chips on a diet, and you can't eat bread either.”

“I guess being French helps me with the bread part,” I said taking another bite.

Christa shook her head.

“Why did your boyfriend come to the airport?”

“Because he wanted to say goodbye and have a nice trip and carry my bag all the way. It's heavy in the train when you don't have a seat and you have to move it around when more people get in,” I said.
