Vampire Friday: Vampire Heart 200

Welcome to a new part of Vampire Heart unedited. Have you been bitten yet?Sign up to be part of our awesome Vampire Friday blog hop team! You know you want to!

Summary of the previous episodes: Viorel has been tortured by his supposed family who wanted to have him burn in the sun. Strangely enough the sun didn't burn him as expected but Viorel has no memory of who he is. Following the advises of his supposed father, he left Sighișoara and is now traveling to the West. After some skirmish in a previous city, he found refuge on a boat. Viorel is now in Vienna. The little problem is that the guy at the inn was a bit of an asshole and helped capture Viorel thinking he was a vampire, which he is but nobody needs to know. Now there is a huge man (which I call the colossi) taking care of Viorel and a priest. They brought a girl. Torture my holy water... Fail. Viorel managed to confuse everyone, now he would like to get out of here. But the girl seems pretty useless. They still managed to escape and he left the girl to the care of the boat lady before going back to have two words with his captors but his power of persuasion were failing him. The priest wanted to crack a deal but Viorel is not really up to help his enemies. He finally got some blood but he can't risk to stay in Vienna. He travel to Linz were he stays a bit to learn German.
Viorel wanted to go to Praha but redirect himself toward Augsburg instead where he wants to get a horse, except that the horses are a bit scared of his vampirism and maybe something else. Viorel is really not a horse expert. Then he comes into an altercation with couple of people, he wants some fear in his blood. The girl Viorel has found seemed to enjoy the game. Viorel prepares for the nightmares that come with a feast of blood, in a rush to leave, he cross the dukedom of Lorrain.
We introduced Sorina, three weeks after the beginning of Viorel's escape.
Viorel dreamed of Sorina and woke up not really remembering anything. Traveling to Paris, he arrives at "La cour des miracles". He is rescued by a stranger who turned out to be Nicolas Flamel, the alchemist he was looking for. Nicolas does some strange experiment without Viorel's agreement. Some people are looking for Nicolas's secrets. On the other side of Europe, Sorina awakes and Viorel's past in haunting him. Viorel discovered that he can change into a wolf but that's not the easiest thing to handle.

Now, let's continue with Vampire Heart, right where we left of last week
There were tracks of the bed feet moving on the floor, she was pushing on it making her body tremble even more but she was too weak to get the heavy furniture to move. I pushed it slightly and a piece of the wooden floor moved up by few centimeter. She kneeled on the floor and passed a finger under it and removed it. She removed three pieces more around it and I heard the cat meow, it was lying on an old piece of clothes and she was right when she said that it was too small to get food by itself, especially prisoner from such a narrow space. She picked it up and hold it against her chest, she took the rest of the bottle of milk from under her dress and sat on the bed breathing heavily. It seemed that the small effort was already too much for her. When breathing, humans used their blood to carry air inside their body, I think it’s really inefficient and that air should just carry itself while being sucked, I still didn’t know why they needed air except to yawn and sight. I needed to breathe too, and the wolf in me needed that air, suddenly I wanted to know why and I wanted to ask Nicolas about it. I realized that there were many things about this world I didn’t know and that I had more than my own answer to find. I felt like I was never going to be satisfied with my knowledge. She poured a bit of milk in the cap of the bottle and the little cat started to lap it hungrily. It was skinnier than it should have been and didn’t seem to healthy.
You shouldn’t let it underground like this it needs to play in the sun and run,” I said.
It reminded me of Sorina’s rabbit, her father had build it a cage that she couldn’t even open by herself and she was touching it’s soft fur or feeding it through the holes. I wonder why humans needed to keep animal that way forbidding them freedom. At time I thought it was a form of jealousy. Animals were free to go wherever they pleases but humans were always attached to their place of birth by so many needed and social obligations.

Thursday Fiction 194: Parallel Slip

Welcome back to a new part of Parallel Slip, where we follow the adventures of Frederique through her slip in different parallel universes.
Let's start right where we left off last week.

I could see the frustration writing itself on Alex's face. He was trying hard to tell his parents what they wanted to hear while being on Amy's side probably because she was in the room. He had some negotiation diplomatic skills that I could only dream of.
"Maybe we missed something," Alex said.
Pause.
"Like a very intense which for something."
Pause.
"I don't know what mum, you can just call her and ask her."
Pause.
"No it's not hard. Just ask "what do you want to do with your life?" "what classes are you taking now?" What do you like that?" and listen to her."
Pause.
"I know you listen to us but maybe she needed more speaking time."
Alex rolled his eyes and I had to agree with that. Amy didn't have half the speaking time that Alex had and he still had problem getting his point across.
"Yeah, I guess that's fine, if that's what you want."
Pause.
"I don't know."
Pause.
"I don't know. bye mum."
Pause.
"Bye."

Wednesday Snippet 197: Blue Angel

Welcome to a new part of Blue Angel unedited, we start right where we left off last time.

“What was that? Who was talking to me? What did he want from me? What was that power he was talking about? My power, what is my power supposed to be?” The questions were turning in Isakael's head and he was afraid. Nothing, nobody was supposed to be more powerful than God, it was just wrong.
“I believe, I believe,” he said over and over again as if it was going to protect him but the charm seemed broken, he wasn't feeling God in this place any more he was only feeling cold. He wanted to go home or at least run away from here as fast as possible, it was supposed to be the place where everyone found their place but he just felt abandoned in the middle of stranger.
He bore with it until everybody came out of trance and the prayer regained its power over them but not over him. He was scared of the voice he had heard, scared that it might be coming back and that it was speaking the truth. He was looking at others trying to see black wings in someone's back but they were all immaculate white. The whiteness of the place made him nauseous as his stomach growled once more in hunger, and he wondered how he could feel both at the same time.
They finally stood up and started to walk away. The one who had reached the trance were congratulated. It was said that they were the one closed to God, the one who could hear his voice directly. The one who never experienced it were asking questions but Isakael tried to avoid them. He didn't know what he would tell them, he didn't know what to explain or what exactly happened. The others were laughing, telling about the blue light and the stars and more light but none them talked about the sudden darkness. Isakael wonder if it had only happened to him or if he was becoming crazy and had dreamed it.

Lockheart Castle and Gallery Vlog in Gunma

We went to Lockheart Castle in Gunma prefecture for the weekend. It's a Scottish Castle that was moved stone by stone to Japan, traveling through Russia.

The castle itself in pretty cool. The rest is more of a random collection without real concept. At the moment they are having a Christmas display on the top floor. They have random items, from Napoleon to Audrey Hepburn on the ground floor, some British item in a different building, a teddy bear museum that you can't really access, a stone museum and a sort of creepy wedding gallery.
