Tantalizing Tuesday 6: The Bayards' house

Hi guys and welcome to a new  Tantalizing Tuesday and you can find the list of participants here.

This time I'm sharing the beginning of a never finished old WIP called "The Bayards' House", I really mean to finish this one but it seems there is always something more pressing to write. Anyway, I should get back to it at some point. Sedana is a secondary character from Demon Soul in the Demon Series and Attic Mirror. This time, this book is more about his story.

Sedana yawned and put his feet on the floor, one after the other. It was so dark in the bedroom that he couldn’t even see them.
His hand fumbled on his night table to get his magic wand. He grabbed and shook it to get some light but nothing came out. He shook it more energetically wondering once more why they couldn’t use their electricity to have light in the morning like normal people.
The first time he had visited his friend's place everything had seemed so marvelous to him especially that they didn’t have to worry about being in the dark.
Nothing came out of his wand again. He stroked the wand in his messy dark hair, generally static electricity help it to awake up in the morning. With a little bit of spit, the light finally came out.
Sedana got up yawning once more and walked to the door. He opened it and pulled the switch on the right side. It was pretty much looking like a switch to turn on the light but a noise of something sliding on rail could be heard. Sedana hit his leg with his free hand impatiently. Why did it always have to be so slow?

As he is about to fall from his new acquired fever, Brownie sees Yue's soul and immediately falls in love with him. But Yue is not a human, Yue is a demon.
Brownie and Yue will built their love story until....

Plot:
Until Yue's soul is stolen. There is nothing left of their love. The purple light dancing in Yue's grey eyes is gone. Forever? Not quite. Brownie is desperate to find it back. And to get a soul stolen by demons, she needs to go deep into dark magic! But Brownie is not a witch, she is just looking for a spell powerful enough to bring her love back. When an amateur starts playing with strong magic without preparation and without caring for the consequences, things turn wrong...

Let's start right where we left off

Mikala smiled knowing that the soft method worked wonders with Yobi.
"You'll do that? Really?" The little fox said his eyes brightening.
Mikala nodded and Brownie sighed. Giving a reward to a child for stealing wasn't her idea of a good education.
"I want a big one," Yobi said spreading his arms as much as he could.
"So tell me first where did you hide Ayo's teddy?" Brownie said losing patience.

Vampire Friday: Vampire Heart 164

Welcome to a new part of Vampire Heart unedited. Have you been bitten yet?Sign up to be part of our awesome Vampire Friday blog hop team! You know you want to!

Summary of the previous episodes: Viorel has been tortured by his supposed family who wanted to have him burn in the sun. Strangely enough the sun didn't burn him as expected but Viorel has no memory of who he is. Following the advises of his supposed father, he left Sighișoara and is now traveling to the West. After some skirmish in a previous city, he found refuge on a boat. Viorel is now in Vienna. The little problem is that the guy at the inn was a bit of an asshole and helped capture Viorel thinking he was a vampire, which he is but nobody needs to know. Now there is a huge man (which I call the colossi) taking care of Viorel and a priest. They brought a girl. Torture my holy water... Fail. Viorel managed to confuse everyone, now he would like to get out of here. But the girl seems pretty useless. They still managed to escape and he left the girl to the care of the boat lady before going back to have two words with his captors but his power of persuasion were failing him. The priest wanted to crack a deal but Viorel is not really up to help his enemies. He finally got some blood but he can't risk to stay in Vienna. He travel to Linz were he stays a bit to learn German.
Viorel wanted to go to Praha but redirect himself toward Augsburg instead where he wants to get a horse, except that the horses are a bit scared of his vampirism and maybe something else. Viorel is really not a horse expert. Then he comes into an altercation with couple of people, he wants some fear in his blood. The girl Viorel has found seemed to enjoy the game. Viorel prepares for the nightmares that come with a feast of blood, in a rush to leave, he cross the dukedom of Lorrain.
We introduced Sorina, three weeks after the beginning of Viorel's escape.
Viorel dreamed of Sorina and woke up not really remembering anything. Traveling to Paris, he arrives at "La cour des miracles". He is rescued by a stranger who turned out to be Nicolas Flamel, the alchemist he was looking for. Nicolas does some strange experiment without Viorel's agreement. Some people are looking for Nicolas's secrets. On the other side of Europe, Sorina awakes and Viorel's past in haunting him. Viorel discovered that he can change into a wolf but that's not the easiest thing to handle.

Now, let's continue with Vampire Heart, right where we left of last week

“Where is the little girl?” I asked.
“Why does it matter to you?” she answered looking away.
“She is dead isn’t she?” I continued holding the painting in my hand.
“She is dead, he is dead, they are all dead,” she yelled and threw me a pillow.
I came closer to her, I wanted to understand her pain to be able to understand mine but I couldn’t.
“Are you going to kill me too?” she said more softly as if she was wishing for it.
“No tonight but one day,” I answered holding her.
She put her head on my shoulder. I stroke her hair to take them away from my face. For a second but a second only I felt like myself again. I felt like who I was before the fire and the disaster in Sighişoara. I felt like I was with Sorina again but I pushed the feeling away when I pushed her back to her bed.
“Kill me!!” she yelled hysterically again, she was pulling the overly opened collar of her dress with both hands to show me her throat. From where I was standing I could see her pulse on the side of her neck, I could feel her heart beat as if I was drinking her. I blew the last candle and left through the window. She would remember tonight forever, she would remember that I was going to London.
I blood of that men, so high in hormones and happiness was almost making me fly. I was once again running on the roof like a black cat. In France they used to say that during the night all cats are grey, meaning that you couldn’t recognize anyone. I was feeling like the master of the night, there was no more vampire in this city and there was only play for me tonight. I went back to the vampire house. The “vítejte“ sign was gone from the top of the door. At least the man had learned. I entered the house without knocking at the door as if I was the master of it. It was a good feeling, I wanted the man to be terrorised, I pull out my sword. It was still tainted from the blood of the day before I hated myself for being that careless but I also knew that it would definitely have an effect on him, as if I had been killing again right before coming in. And that didn’t miss.
As I entered they were having dinner, his wife and the maid serving her soup saw me first, he had his back turned at me. This made me remember that I would never put a chair between a table and the door. I put my blade on his shoulder. He might have been a human but I knew he could still smell the blood and feel the weight of the sharp steal.

Thursday Fiction 158: Parallel Slip

Welcome back to a new part of Parallel Slip, where we follow the adventures of Frederique through her slip in different parallel universes.

Let's start right where we left off last week.

"I can walk, I think."
"Good. The doctor is talking to your mother, we will need an investigation about your lips and your general conditions before she can see you," the nurse assured me.
I felt sudden relieve.
"Frederique, Frederique," my mother yelled behind me in the corridor.
I walked away with the nurse.
"I believe this is yours," she said pointing at a bag on my hospital bed.
I nodded, it was the exact same bag I had in my original world.
There were two girls in my room already. I walked passed their bed to get to mind and took a deep painful breath recognizing my spaceship pilots. I passed my hand in my hair to make sure. I had long hair here and my mother had called me Frederique and I was wearing a hospital gone on the top of a jean, not Michelle's fancy uniform. I was somewhere on Earth, not in the spaceship universe.
