WeWriWar 226: Rainbow catcher

Welcome to a new excerpt of Rainbow Catcher for the Weekend Writing Warrior and Snippet Sunday.

Now let's go back to our story.

Summary of previous episodes: Clarissa is coughing and wanted to watch Everett Cooper on TV but Jason refused, she is due to get her rainbow the next day but she seems scared, to make her feel better Jason leave the TV on. Clarissa tried to explain about rainbows, she is a big fan of Everett Cooper but Jason is not too sure about it. Clarissa complained about her dialophone but Jason needs to go to work. Before completely leaving he is thinking about getting her her rainbow. We flashed back to the meeting Jason had with a rainbow seller at the black market. Jason left Clarissa's room to go to work. Jason was talking to his boss about the rainbow coming the next day. Jason prepared the money for the rainbow in a sport bag and went to the hospital. The rainbow seller arrived for the delivery. But it was a scam and Jason prepares to go get the rainbow himself in the desert. Markus has a last surprise for him.

We start just where we left off last week.

They both looked at him as if ready to take him on together. He then clapped his huge right hand on the table making the entire counter tremble and they both looked down at their glasses as if not willing to argue any more.
Jason was impressed by the flatness of the man's hands and wonder how many time a day he had to hit the bar so violently. He rose his glass slowly and drunk trying to avoid the sand but soon realized it was useless. He took a deep breath and drunk up, if those people had been living that way for years, this yellow water wasn’t going to kill him either. He had never thought that colours could have a taste but he now knew the taste of yellow.
He left his glass on the counter and walked to the toilet. He took his bottle of oil out and drunk a bit of it before pouring some on his skin. It made him feel hotter than before but at least this thirst was completely gone. The oil too tasted yellow. He wondered if there was anything else in the desert.

Doll Review: Isul The Little Prince

I was asked on facebook for a review of Isul the little prince and since I also just got the rose, I thought I might as well get him reviewed first and make it a mini-series.
I went through a lot of troubles to get this doll and that made me discover so many stores in Tokyo that sell pullip. Some good, some a little less good. I love the little prince so much and I read the book multiple times so this was a must-have series for me. Though it took me a long time to actually get the Rose.
This Isul is super adorable. I love what they did with him. He has awesome blond hair, glittery eyes and he comes with a sword.

Here is the video

And here are some pictures

Vampire Friday: Vampire Heart 141

Welcome to a new part of Vampire Heart unedited. Have you been bitten yet?
Sign up to be part of our awesome Vampire Friday blog hop team! You know you want to!

Summary of the previous episodes: Viorel has been tortured by his supposed family who wanted to have him burn in the sun. Strangely enough the sun didn't burn him as expected but Viorel has no memory of who he is. Following the advises of his supposed father, he left Sighișoara and is now traveling to the West. After some skirmish in a previous city, he found refuge on a boat. Viorel is now in Vienna. The little problem is that the guy at the inn was a bit of an asshole and helped capture Viorel thinking he was a vampire, which he is but nobody needs to know. Now there is a huge man (which I call the colossi) taking care of Viorel and a priest. They brought a girl. Torture my holy water... Fail. Viorel managed to confuse everyone, now he would like to get out of here. But the girl seems pretty useless. They still managed to escape and he left the girl to the care of the boat lady before going back to have two words with his captors but his power of persuasion were failing him. The priest wanted to crack a deal but Viorel is not really up to help his enemies. He finally got some blood but he can't risk to stay in Vienna. He travel to Linz were he stays a bit to learn German.
Viorel wanted to go to Praha but redirect himself toward Augsburg instead where he wants to get a horse, except that the horses are a bit scared of his vampirism and maybe something else. Viorel is really not a horse expert. Then he comes into an altercation with couple of people, he wants some fear in his blood. The girl Viorel has found seemed to enjoy the game. Viorel prepares for the nightmares that come with a feast of blood, in a rush to leave, he cross the dukedom of Lorrain.
We introduced Sorina, three weeks after the beginning of Viorel's escape.
Viorel dreamed of Sorina and woke up not really remembering anything. Traveling to Paris, he arrives at "La cour des miracles". He is rescued by a stranger who turned out to be Nicolas Flamel, the alchemist he was looking for. Nicolas does some strange experiment without Viorel's agreement. Some people are looking for Nicolas's secrets. On the other side of Europe, Sorina awakes and Viorel's past in haunting him. Viorel discovered that he can change into a wolf but that's not the easiest thing to handle.

Now, let's continue with Vampire Heart, right where we left of last week
I was getting tired of the game, I turned around and cut of his head with one blow of his sword.
His head jumped on the couch striking the other vampire in the belly. I didn’t have anything against him but I couldn’t let any vampire in the run killing people in the middle of the street without even caring about what would happen once they are discovered. Vampires hadn’t always been the hunter once back in time they had been the hunted. There was a time when people still believed in vampire and witches and that time wasn’t long gone, the human just needed a little push to go back to their old ways and start hunting us again, not the way we hunted them. Humans were good at mass extermination. I wasn’t sure vampires had been up to anything like it except for what happened in Sighişoara. Human wouldn’t do something small. They would go for everything out of the norm. They would kid each other without remorse, their neighbour for the smallest possible litige, their family members, they would pray for the devil to stop but it wouldn’t stop. They would fear for their life and kill others to protect themselves. Vampires would die as they might catch some at time but the worse plague would be carried on humans. The head on the vampires’ belly was discomposing slowly. In few minutes it was going to be ashes and water. The vampire hadn’t moved, he had a very bad injury on his head. It had been smashed badly repeatedly. I would say that he had earned it. I took my sword and cut of his head.
The man in the stairs had a hiccup. If he hadn’t I might not have noticed him.
“We have two options here. You help me find all the documents they have brought to your house and you forget about me. Or I also take your head and your wife’s.” I said as calmly as possible.
I didn’t want to kill those humans, I had enough blood for tonight.
“There is another one of them, he went to send a missive, they send some every Tuesday”, he said.
“I’ll wait for him and take care of him too”, the blood of the younger vampire was leaking on the sofa, the smell was so strong, I could understand that it was making the human nauseous.
“He is bigger and stronger than this one”, he said pointing at the half discomposed cadaver on the floor.
“That’s not a problem. I pulled up the curtains to make sure nobody was going to see this mess from the street. The house was pretty far from any big street and I would have guess that the only reason for someone to get in here would have been because they wanted to visit this house. I sat on the desk and looked through the window.
“Why did you bring the other vampire in?” I asked.
“He is my brother, was”, the man said.
Curiously, I felt no sadness in his voice.

Thursday Fiction 134: Parallel Slip

Welcome back to a new part of Parallel Slip, where we follow the adventure of Frederique through her slip in different parallel universes.

Let's start right where we left off last week

"I guess you'll have to take side classes then," I said.
"I'm not smart enough," Amy answered, "and oceanography is not that bad, I mean I like it too."
"But why would you reduce yourself to just that when you can have both," I said.
"I can't register for more classes. I told you I wouldn't have graduated without Alex's help and he won't help anymore, he has too much physics to do. See he is studying right now when I'm in a bus to nowhere," Amy said.
I knew I was going to get nowhere with Amy by tackling her upfront so I decided to take the side door.
"My mother's company as a contract ready for me for when I finish my degree in two years," I said. "I just have to go home to her and sign it, then I'll go to work in the same office as her every day for the rest of my life," I said. "No much time to enjoy life, parental eyes on me until she retires by that time I'll be forty-five, I'll never have a boyfriend, all the guys around will have a beer belly or be married to someone else who went to high-school with me. It's a small city, they all know each other and who would want to move there anyway."
"Two years," Amy said as if I had just told her that I had an incurable disease and that my time was limited.
"Two years," I said.
"And then, your entire life is already decided for you," she said.
"Was," I answered.
"Was?"
"I ran away," I said. "I'm here right?"
"But your mum was in your room right, when she slapped you," Amy said.
"Because I ran away. Because I'm not wasting my life like she wasted hers."
Amy didn't answer, she was just looking at me as if I had said the craziest thing she ever heard and after what happened at the bar tonight, I didn't know if that was a good thing. I look straight in front of me. I couldn’t let what she thought of me distract me while lecturing her.
