Hello and welcome to a new Mystery Monday.
I hope you had a great week-end. Here is a new little part of Murder at the Conference. Murder at the Conference is a stand alone sequel to Harajuku Kiss.
We start right were we left off last week:
I didn't answer and tried to concentrate on my reading. I had to, if I continued this conversation I was sure something bad was going to happen again.
“Personally, I'm not surprised. He never really comes to pick you up here. He doesn't care if you come home late at night, I guess he doesn't want to spend much time with you at all so having you in China for two weeks....”
“Christa, drop it, I'm trying to work here.”
My hands were shaking a little. I wanted to yell but I also wanted to be in control and yelling was bad. She would just dismiss everything I say as be going crazy.
“Seriously, I thought you finished your poster last night,” she said. “You know I was really annoyed when you betrayed me like that but I talked about it with my boyfriend and he said that you don't really work as hard as you say you do, that you stay in the lab late and arrive earlier just to look good.”
