Welcome to Tuesday Travel. Every Tuesday, I will be presenting an excerpt of Witch Raising: The Book of Fire, the book in which Brownie, the heroine of Demon Soul, is undertaking an initiatory journey.
Witch Raising is a new series with Brownie, the heroine of Demon Soul as the main character. This series is part of the House at the Crossing Series and follows Demon Soul and Demon and Fairy but instead of being centered on the adventure of Sahel and his demon friends, it follows Brownie as she goes from being a normal girl to a bad ass witch. She has been practicing magick for a while now, saving people from difficult situations but the people at the house, including Sahel aren't happy with her new calling. Feeling that she doesn't have a choice and has to keep learning witchcraft, Brownie leaves to meet other witches.
The excerpt, we start where we left off last week
Brownie smiled. She didn't know how she would have broken that news to Josh but he didn't say anything more. The old woman packed carefully the moon encens. To an untrained eye, it would have seemed that all the shelves were disorganised but to Brownie, she could see the beauty of it. Every candle, every incense and every herb were put just as the right place not to interact with each other. It had probably taken for evet to organise them that way and memorise how to do it. It was a bit crazy too, the most effective magic store she had ever seem.
"Normally, people come her to get herbs for their cooking," the old woman said.
Brownie smiled at that and paid for the incense.
"You better come back in one piece," the old woman said. "Trisha is going to love it when she read your palm again."
"I don't think she'll see much more than she already did," Brownie said.
"Trisha always sees much more than she says, learn well from her," the old woman said.
And with that Josh and Brownie were on their way.
