Mystery Monday 119: Murder at the Conference 16

Welcome to Mystery Monday. This week, we continue with Murder at the Conference.

Let's get back where we left off with chapter 1 last time.

“They are aligned vertically, they aren't the same length in the two columns,” I said, hoping he wasn't going to make me change the size of the box to have them all the same length as well because that would be a nightmare.

“Alright then, you can send it to the printer,” he said.

“I'm not too sure how to do that,” I answered.

He took a pen and wrote an email address on the cover of my notebook.

“Just send it there in pdf and tell them to print it vertically and that should be fine. Don't forget to add the name of the lab and your room number and someone should be delivering it when they print it tomorrow morning, their office is probably closed by now.”

“Alright, I'll do that,” I said.

“By the way where is Christa?” He asked getting up.

“She went out for dinner,” I said.

He looked at her desk.

“I didn't receive her corrections yet,” he said.

“She'll probably finished later tonight,” I said.

He rose and eyebrow looking at me. I know that was dubious. She wasn't going to come back here tonight, Christa wasn't the type to stay late at night. She said the lab freaked her out if she ever ended up alone in the building and she couldn't do anything from her laptop either.

“Probably,” he said. “I need to go pick up my kids, see you tomorrow.”

And with that he was gone.

I went through my poster once again, to make sure that everything was perfect. I printed a last small version and took a ruler to make sure my boxes were aligned. I didn't spot any typos or anything out of place so I send the email before my supervisor could come back and change his mind about it all. I needed to get my tub to carry the poster tomorrow. I had this feeling that I was forgetting something. It was a feeling that I had very often and I rarely could spot what the problem was. I packed up to go home. Whatever it was, it could wait until tomorrow.

End of chapter 1
