WeWriWar 319: The House at the Crossing 24

Hello everybody and welcome for a new Sunday of writing with Weekend Writing Warrior and Snippet Sunday!

I decided to change things a little bit so for the next few months, I'm going to present you my new WIP. It's called "The House at the Crossing" and it's a prequel to Demon Soul and the demon series. It's a bit of a mix of Fantasy and Science-fiction.
It follows one of the books more obscure character as she first come into the House. It's suppose to explain why there are so many people is the house and sort of where they come from and at the same time be a first time adventure for the main character as she needs to adapt to her new role and the new version of who she is.

Since it's a WIP, and I still haven't finished the first draft, it's still really row. Hopefully, we'll see some improvement as it goes.

Let's start right at where we left off last week!

“So you figured it out already?” Aunt Teresa said pouring water inside of my mug.

There are four of me stirring their tea bags in their mug and I am one of them. Some other are observing the darker color forming at the bottom. I used to do that a lot.

“It took me forever before I understood what was happening to me the first time. And it seems I was the only one. My family never felt the pull, they were never fragmented. That's what I call it,” Aunt Teresa continues.

  1. Intriguing! What does aunt Teresa know??? Perhaps she will be the one to solve the mystery of the clones. Or at least be the catalyst for discovery. :-) Great snippet, Linda!

  2. I'm still loving this. BTW, I have scenes that are somewhat analogous in my WIP, Never Saw a Purple Cow, that's currently sitting on a publisher's desk, awaiting rejection. I mean acceptance!

  8. Is this a timeline thing? Some of the clones are in the past while she's in the present? Are some the future? I am so curious to figure this out.
