WeWriWar 317: The House at the Crossing 22

Hello everybody and welcome for a new Sunday of writing with Weekend Writing Warrior and Snippet Sunday!

I decided to change things a little bit so for the next few months, I'm going to present you my new WIP. It's called "The House at the Crossing" and it's a prequel to Demon Soul and the demon series. It's a bit of a mix of Fantasy and Science-fiction.
It follows one of the books more obscure character as she first come into the House. It's suppose to explain why there are so many people is the house and sort of where they come from and at the same time be a first time adventure for the main character as she needs to adapt to her new role and the new version of who she is.

Since it's a WIP, and I still haven't finished the first draft, it's still really row. Hopefully, we'll see some improvement as it goes.

Let's start right at where we left off last week!

Aunt Teresa seems pretty unfazed by what is happening. She moves through the other me, making them sit down at the table which is much larger than it was a few minutes ago. I can't get my brain around it so I count the mugs on the table.
Twelves. No fourteen. No just eight. Wait did these two mugs just merged into one?
In front of my eyes, my own mug doubles and there is one of me now sitting next to me. I touch my mug at the same time as she does hers. It seems real, normal, like any other cup.

  1. My curiosity is piqued, for sure. I really want to know what's going on with her. If these things are really happening, or if she's been drugged, or bewitched... :-)

  2. Trippy!! Either multiple timelines are merging or she's hallucinating.

  3. Wow. You've done a great job of creating a surreal situation. This story seems like one of your best.

  4. LOVE the merging mugs! This house and the aunt are so fascinating, can't take your eyes off of her for a second it seems. I'm very much enjoying this story - wonderful snippet.

  5. Is there more than one aunt? This is so bizarre. Good job.
