Hello everybody and welcome for a new Sunday of writing with Weekend Writing Warrior and Snippet Sunday!
I
decided to change things a little bit so for the next few months, I'm
going to present you my new WIP. It's called "The House at the Crossing"
and it's a prequel to Demon Soul and the demon series. It's a bit of a mix of Fantasy and Science-fiction.
It
follows one of the books more obscure character as she first come into
the House. It's suppose to explain why there are so many people is the
house and sort of where they come from and at the same time be a first
time adventure for the main character as she needs to adapt to her new
role and the new version of who she is.
Since it's a WIP, and I still haven't finished the first draft, it's still really row. Hopefully, we'll see some improvement as it goes.
We
are all watching her, as if all of us were going to ask a very different question.
Then a new question pops in my head. “Am I real? If
there are other me, then who is the real one. I feel real, but are
they real too, at least if they feel real they probably are real and
then what does that say about me...”
The
room seems to close around me a bit more, like it's going to hug me,
it's not menacing but I can't help myself and stand up and pull
Hiroshi's crib a bit closer to me. It takes me a moment to realized
that the other me with the twins is doing the same.
“I
was expecting more,” Aunt Teresa said. “I sent the letters to all
of you, but I guess some got lost in the probabilities. Even when you
start at 100%, sometimes, things can turn out unexpected.”

That was one solid question. Surprised and intrigued ... there are more ?
ReplyDeleteWell, that would certainly be an unsettling circumstance to find oneself in!
ReplyDeleteAll I can say is this is SO fascinating and I love the twisty set up here. Lots of good questions and much more to learn, I'm sure. Terrific snippet!
ReplyDeleteVery strange and eerie.
ReplyDeleteI love the spooky atmosphere you've created here.
ReplyDelete"...lost in the probabilities" -- I love that!
ReplyDelete(Actually, I'm loving this whole story.)
It would be hard to wrap your brain around multiple versions of yourself all in one place.
ReplyDeleteHow confusing for her. Scary, too. I'm curious how this will play out.
