About Witch Raising: The Book of Fire
Witch Raising is a new series with Brownie, the heroine of Demon Soul as the main character. This series is part of the House at the Crossing Series and follows Demon Soul and Demon and Fairy but instead of being centered on the adventure of Sahel and his demon friends, it follows Brownie as she goes from being a normal girl to a bad ass witch. She has been practicing magick for a while now, saving people from difficult situations but the people at the house, including Sahel aren't happy with her new calling. Feeling that she doesn't have a choice and has to keep learning witchcraft, Brownie leaves to meet other witches.
The excerpt, we start where we left off last week
“All right then, you
better go, it will still be easier to pack and leave the house while
Sahel is out, the little trick you pulled on him might not work too
much longer.”
“Wait, wait,” Dylan
called from the closet.
He had now disappeared
inside it.
“What is he doing?”
Brownie asked.
“Being Dylan,” Viorel
said.
“I got it, I got it,”
Dylan said emerging of the closet covered in dust.
“You guys really need
to do some clean up,” Brownie said.
“Could you do it by
magic?” Daciana said turning around and yawning.
“No, and don't ask
Gideon either,” Brownie answered.
Daciana turned back face
the wall. Brownie rolled her eyes.
“Could you even do
that?” Dylan ask.
“I don't think so but I
rather not try,” Brownie said. She had enough miss-casted spell on
her belt.
“Anyway, her you go,”
he said giving her a box the size of a boots shoe box.
“What is it?” She
said trying to open the box but Dylan stopped her.
“Not until you're on
the bus. The trip will take a while so...”
“I see, thanks,”
Brownie said.
The box seemed like more
of an hindrance than anything else but the least she could do was to
still take it with her. At least is was something like home that she
would carry around even if it was Dylan style.
“I better go,” she
said.
“I'll see you at the
door once you're packed,” Viorel said.
Brownie walked out of the
room, the basement corridor gave her a chill. The vampire would
probably be the only one in the house saying good bye, that was
safer. She wondered when things had turned out this way. She used to
be hanging out with Hitomi and Grenadine all the time now she spent
more time with the vampire and Gideon and Sahel's demon friends.
