Welcome to the first Tuesday Travel post. Every Tuesday, I will be presenting an excerpt of Witch Raising: The Book of Fire.
About Witch Raising: The Book of Fire
Witch Raising is a new series with Brownie, the heroine of Demon Soul as the main character. This series is part of the House at the Crossing Series and follows Demon Soul and Demon and Fairy
but instead of being centered on the adventure of Sahel and his demon
friends, it follows Brownie as she goes from being a normal girl to a
bad ass witch. She has been practicing magick for a while now, saving
people from difficult situations but the people at the house, including
Sahel aren't happy with her new calling. Feeling that she doesn't have a
choice and has to keep learning witchcraft, Brownie leaves to meet
other witches.
The excerpt, we start where we left off last week
And then there was Sahel, maybe the one who opinion of her counted the most but lately, well, he hadn't had a problem before when she was with him in the library, reading and learning but then, he had enter the school in the demon World and things had taken a turn for the worse. She knew he had to be with other demons despite the danger over there and he had to learn and couldn't turn a blind eyes to what had been going, the people kidnapping her, then attacking them and their sanctuary, he couldn't just wait until it was over under a rock and let it happen. She wouldn't want him to, but what she was tired of was to be pushed on the side and to be expected to hide under that rock until it was over. He didn't trust her with magic, he thought she was addicted or crazy or whatever twisted adjective. He didn't see that magic run inside of her now, that there was no escaping the missed spell that had gone wrong when she had tried to recall his soul, that it wouldn't be over until they had all fallen on her face trying to kill her, because on top of the demon war, that was what she had to deal with on a daily basis, failed spell with a weird result coming back to haunt her. The only thing she could do about it, was to keep going, to understand why she had those dreams and what they meant and what to do about it, how to survive it. But with that anger boiling up in her chest every single time Sahel wanted to talk about it, she couldn't keep on doing it her.
She had to go, she had to take care of it on her own.
