Tuesday Travel 1: Witch Raising: The Book of Fire

Welcome to the first Tuesday Travel post. Every Tuesday, I will be presenting an excerpt of Witch Raising: The Book of Fire.

About Witch Raising: The Book of Fire

Witch Raising is a new series with Brownie, the heroine of Demon Soul as the main character. This series is part of the House at the Crossing Series and follows Demon Soul and Demon and Fairy but instead of being centered on the adventure of Sahel and his demon friends, it follows Brownie as she goes from being a normal girl to a bad ass witch. She has been practicing magick for a while now, saving people from difficult situations but the people at the house, including Sahel aren't happy with her new calling. Feeling that she doesn't have a choice and has to keep learning witchcraft, Brownie leaves to meet other witches.

The excerpt

There were no dreams, there were no nightmares. Brownie only floated in the white light. The white light pushed her gently as if it wanted to take her somewhere. She was at her core. She had reached the core seed of her consciousness.
She had read about it many many times but despite all the meditation she had done, she had never arrived to the point where she was fully inside of herself. She looked around but there were no boundaries. She decided to stop fighting and to just let go. She had done everything she could for her family. Her magic was depleted, she couldn't even move anymore. She still cared, at least she knew she did but she couldn't feel it or formulate it in a way that would matter.
In here, everything was empty and silent. Her thought seemed to pass around her without reaching her as if pushed away by the light, as if they didn't matter, weren't part of her anymore.
In here all was calm and the only thing remaining was her. She could stay here for all eternity but she knew that here, nothing would reach her, nothing would hurt her. The part of her eternal soul, her immortal being that she had been looking for, was finally whole with her, she had reached it, unifying every little pieces coming from her past life, every memory, every action, every single atom and wave making her whole. All it had taken was to go so deep into her magic that she ended up needing to use someone else's. She would have laughed at that if she were able to catch the though but she didn't ear it.
