WeWriWar 208: Rainbow catcher

Welcome to a new excerpt of Rainbow Catcher for the Weekend Writing Warrior and Snippet Sunday.
Sorry about last week, I totally forgot it was Sunday until Tuesday, so...
Anyone planning to participate in JuNoWriMo next month?

Now let's go back to our story.

Summary of previous episodes: Clarissa is coughing and wanted to watch Everett Cooper on TV but Jason refused, she is due to get her rainbow the next day but she seems scared, to make her feel better Jason leave the TV on. Clarissa tried to explain about rainbows, she is a big fan of Everett Cooper but Jason is not too sure about it. Clarissa complained about her dialophone but Jason needs to go to work. Before completely leaving he is thinking about getting her her rainbow. We flashed back to the meeting Jason had with a rainbow seller at the black market. Jason left Clarissa's room to go to work. Jason was talking to his boss about the rainbow coming the next day. Jason prepared the money for the rainbow in a sport bag and went to the hospital. The rainbow seller arrived for the delivery. But it was a scam and Jason prepares to go get the rainbow himself in the desert. Markus has a last surprise for him.

We start just where we left off last time.

“I’m not saying I’m taking it, I’m just giving it a try until Green Sun Valley,” Jason said.
“Of course, but if you don’t take it away, Gena will probably burn it to aches and me with it,” Markus said laughing.
“You can still hide it somewhere before she arrives, except if she has a moon catcher too,” Jason said sitting on the bike.
“Don’t get too confident, you still have to drive it,” Markus said sitting behind him.
And that was not an easy task. It took three attempts before Jason could actually have the bike well enough in hand to reach normal average speed without it stopping by itself. He was scared of the speed already, every time he drove too fast, he braked so hard that the engine didn’t bear the abrupt change and died.

  4. I hope Markus is patient while he learns so he doesn't make him more nervous.

  5. Sounds like me trying to drive a stick shift. Whiplash ahead!

  6. I wonder if the bike is hard to ride because he's inexperienced, or because it's such a special bike.

  7. I imagine he'll get the hang of it pretty soon unless as Ed said, it's a special bike.

  8. Tbh, him on the bike sounds a bit like me the first time I rode a quad. I'm sure he'll be roaring around on it in no time.
Wee spelling mistake: aches instead of ashes.

  9. With experience, I'm sure he'll get better handling the bike. Or risk bodily injury.

I forgot to sign up, but I still posted my snippet. http://dianeburton.blogspot.com/
