International Mother Language Day is celebrated on 21 February. On 21 March 1948, the governor of Pakistan declared that Urdu would be the only official language in both West and East Pakistan (now Bangladesh). On 21 February 1952, students decided to strike and protest in the street. The government installed a curfew to prevent the protestation and people breaking it would be taken down. The students still decided to go on the street and many died. This day is a symbol of language and cultural diversity.
We celebrated it on 4th of March at the University of Electro-communication in Tokyo.
