She placed
her hand on his painful side, the pressure by itself was almost
unbearable. He knew he had at least two broken ribs as well but those
were invisible, he didn't expect her to find them.
“Wait!”
he placed his hand on hers trying to stop her but there was no use.
He didn't
imagine that she was so strong. It was as if she was made of stone,
she wouldn't move a millimeter away from him and he couldn't move
away either. The light was glowing all around him enveloping them
both completely, the sensation of beatitude came back to him and he
fought it to look at her face, he could see the transformation on her
face, the pain appearing on her forehead, her smile distorted by it
as it left him. He caught her just before she felt on the floor, she
was crying.
“I
couldn't finish, I'm the worse angel you could get,” she said out
of breathe, “let me try again.”
She tried to
sit back up but Kelpie hold on tight.
“Wait a
minute, you are an amazing angel and you don't have to do it all at
once, actually you don't have to do it at all, just relax.”
“But you
are in pain,” she said sobbing.
“I'm fine,
I'm totally fine, you should really look at your face,” he said.
She brought
a hand to her cheek.
“It will
be gone soon,” she said.
“Have you
ever tried curing yourself?”
“It's
forbidden,” she said, “but angels heal faster than normal so it
doesn't matter much, in few hours, everything will be gone.”
She tried to
take a deep breath but huddle up and cough.
“You need
to take it easy. Broken rips are really the worse I ever got,” he
said.
She tried to
smile at him.
“They are
not that bad if you don't move,” she answered.
