WeWriWar 124: Rainbow Catcher

Welcome to a new excerpt of Rainbow Catcher for the Weekend Writing Warrior and Snippet Sunday

This week I have a favor to ask you. I'm participating in an anthology for Ataxia Canada.
We are having a Thunderclap for the release of both volumes of "This Beautiful Escape." Would you please care to sign up and share the thunderclap with your readers, family and friends. The post is scheduled for November 24th.
Volume one and Volume two
Thank you.

Now let's go back to our story.

Summary of previous episodes: Clarissa is coughing and wanted to watch Everett Cooper on TV but Jason refused, she is due to get her rainbow the next day but she seems scared, to make her feel better Jason leave the TV on. Clarissa tried to explain about rainbows, she is a big fan of Everett Cooper but Jason is not too sure about it. Clarissa complained about her dialophone but Jason needs to go to work. Before completely leaving he is thinking about getting her her rainbow. We flashed back to the meeting Jason had with a rainbow seller at the black market. Jason left Clarissa's room to go to work. Jason is talking to his boss about the rainbow coming the next day.

We start just where we left off last week.

He had the kind of deep laugh coming from the bottom of his chest.
“She’ll be alright, if she is still playing that game, she’ll be alright.”
He handed the pack for tonight to Jason, who bent under the weight, making Markus laugh even more.
“Still not ready to be a mechanic.”
It was his usual joke, letting Jason take the heavy box before bringing it himself to the table. Jason had sworn that someday he would surprise him by being able to carry it, but that day seemed still far away.
“You’ll have the rainbow tomorrow, right?”
“Yes,” Jason answered, taking his seat.

  1. I hope he'll have the rainbow, but somehow I'm thinking he won't...

  2. I don't know... I think he's toying with him about when he'll get his rainbow. :-) Good snippet, Linda.

  3. Just continued to be wrapped up in the story, loving the concept of the healing rainbows!

  4. He's still going out of his way for her, isn't he?

  5. Interesting! Wonder how he plans to get that rainbow.

  6. Looking forward to reading about tomorrow night. Time for that rainbow to appear!

  7. Looking forward to reading about tomorrow night. Time for that rainbow to appear!

  8. I like the joke about not being ready to be a mechanic, and how he swears he'll be able to carry the bag one day. What is in the bag anyways that he can't carry it? Rocks? Lol!
