Korea, Jeju island : 만장굴

En français
The next day it hopefully wasn't raining anymore so I started early in the morning to go visit 만장굴 (Manjanggul) lava tube. As it name says, 만장굴 is a lava tube, which means that the lava was moving trough that rock tube underground leaving traces on the wall, floor and ceiling due to the change of temperature and pressure. It presents nice features such as lava stalactite, lava column, lava toes....
The lava tube is made of a succession of thin and wider caves. It is part of UNESCO World Heritage sites.

Korea, ferry to 제주 island

En français
The next morning I got up really early to go to the ferry passenger terminal to take the ferry to 제주 island. The boat sailed between several island on the way to 제주. I had a room so I could get a bit of sleep before arriving on the island. The trip takes about four hours and a half. It was sunny when I had left mainland Korea but when I arrived in 제주 it was raining a lot. I went directly to the guest house and stayed there instead of doing the outdoor activities planed for that afternoon. The guest house is located on the East site of the island so it's very easy to access two of the three UNESCO World Heritage sites present there.

Korea, the way to Mokpo

En français
From 대전 (Daejeon) I took the train for 목포 (Mokpo), I didn't really see much of 목포, I just stayed at the hotel there before taking the ferry for Jeju island. But I could take picture of the landscape from the train. Korea is a country full of mountains.

Korea, Daejeon : Expo park

En français
Near the 한밧수목원 (Hanbatsumokwon) there is the Expo park. Most of the activities were closed (probably because it was a Monday) but I could still enter the park and have a look around. It is part of the national science education facilities and display advance technology facilities. It is also the habitat of migratory birds.

Korea, Daejeon : 한밧수목원

En français
I then went to visit 한밧수목원 (Hanbatsumogwon) Hanbat arboretum, unfortunately only the east side was open. It's an artificial tree garden and the largest park in the city. It has several gardens, a meditation wood, a sense garden, ponds and an eco-forest.
