Thursday Fiction 398: Parallel Slip 2: Rebel

Welcome back to a new Thursday Fiction, it's been a while. We continue with Parallel Slip 2: Rebel where we left of last time, following Isabelle as she figure out who she really is.

In the end, she was the one punished because it was taking her too long to say the damn words. It was hard when she was little and it grew even worse as she grew up. He had it easy saying sorry and she was getting more and more revengeful with the unfairness. Her mother was never sorry and rarely forgiving. And here it was, she acknowledged it. Isabelle wouldn't be forgiven for saying that uncle Henry's death was unnatural. Then so be it. That was one more thing she had to learn to deal with. Like everything she had learned in this family, it was all a lie.

She locked the door once again and change the toilet paper in her right nostril. There was blood all over the sink but she didn't want to take care of it now. Her wrist needed attention. If she didn't take care of it now, her resolve would fade. This was going to hurt and Isabelle wasn't really good with pain. She took her razor and pulled out the blade. It was more difficult than in the movies with those four blade super close shaving things they built these days but she was happy to get it out without cutting herself.

Wednesday Snippet 400: Fairy World 41

Welcome back to Wednesday Snippet. This week, we continue with Fairy World unedited just where we left off last week

The second was too heavily charge to avoid the first kick and when he finally free himself from the clothes he was bringing, the human's hand somehow caught him in the chin. He stumbled backward into Amarelis' problem.

The fairy carrying the tea had turned around to her when hearing the noise and cries. She had hit the tray up, breaking the tea pot and cup and pouring the hot tea all over him but after that she had no idea what to do. A part of her felt sorry for making a mess and the other part of her felt sorry for it not been enough. The fairy had let the tray down and grabbed her wrist and pulled for forward. All she could do was resisting and looking back hoping that the human would help her before running away. Then the second guy had bumped into her opponent and she had found herself next to Deborah, the fairies between them and the door and she had hoped they wouldn't be the one escaping and locking them up again.

"You can't fight for shit," Deborah said.

Tuesday Travel 196: Witch Raising: The Book of Earth 43

Welcome to Tuesday Travel. This week we are following Brownie on her journey as she is going toward the second element: Earth.

About Witch Raising.

Witch Raising is a new series with Brownie, the heroine of Demon Soul as the main character. This series is part of the House at the Crossing Series and follows Demon Soul and Demon and Fairy but instead of being centered on the adventure of Sahel and his demon friends, it follows Brownie as she goes from being a normal girl to a bad ass witch. She has been practicing magick for a while now, saving people from difficult situations but the people at the house, including Sahel aren't happy with her new calling. Feeling that she doesn't have a choice and has to keep learning witchcraft, Brownie leaves to meet other witches.

The excerpt starts right where we left off last week.

“It's from Persifica in the sixteen century, there was an female explorer who didn't like to be dictated who she owed to be so she build her own boat with brown wood and people started calling her Brownie. It has nothing to so with the chocolate pastry I'm afraid,” Brownie said.

“So it is very interesting, I never heard of this story. Have you Margarethe?”

“Not at all Henry,” Margarethe looking at her husband.

She seemed quite younger than he was but looking carefully, she had expression wrinkles in the corners of her eyes that betrayed her true age.

“It's an hidden part of the peninsula history, I guess,” Brownie said.

A hidden part that nobody knew about and that she didn't bother to explain any more, since A nobody ever believed her and B well, Yue had called her his little choco cookie so after that the food reference of her name didn't seem so bad any more. Generally, she just told people her mother was hungry when she named her. It was easier.

Mystery Monday 193: Murder at the Conference 90

Hello mystery lovers and welcome to a new Mystery Monday.
I hope you had a great week-end. Here is a new little part of Murder at the Conference. Murder at the Conference is a stand alone sequel to Harajuku Kiss.

We start with chapter 4 after finishing chapter 3 last week:

It was finally time to go. This time I hadn't forgotten my poster carrier at the security check point. That was a relief. I was carrying mine, our supervisor and the student's poster. When Christa had noticed that the lid wouldn't stay closed if I wasn't careful she had decided to buy her own as she didn't want me to lose her poster. Personally, I didn't mind. I wished that she had been in charge of everything but nobody wanted to take the posters out of my carrier to put them in hers. We were all lazy like that.

I went to by myself a sandwich. I had taken the opportunity to sleep in instead of going to the lab before going to the airport. I had slept really well despite the fact that I had taken about forever to fall asleep and I had therefore skipped breakfast. I added some crisps and a bottle of cold green tea. It had been strange at first to drink cold unflavored tea in a bottle but after a while I had gotten used to it and now I was totally addicted.

You can now find all the Snippets of Murder at the Conference on this blog all together right here.
