It all started with Dylan giving me his bracelet few nights before. We were at Sorina’s parents’ inn. No matter what she would tell them they still found it safer to have her within their eyesight and I couldn’t blame them. She was still a little scared of Dylan. He had these deep green eyes that would have bewitched anyone around and she was afraid that he would forget she was not a meal. She was sitting close to me holding my arm really tight, her head resting on my shoulder. I could feel her heart beat through our light summer shirts. Dylan was smiling at us and I knew for sure that I could trust him. There was something about him that I had always felt about me, he was at the wrong place and he needed someone out of his clan to keep his sanity. The only person he had ever loved and trust had abandoned him when he was still too young to complain and the only thing he had left from him was this bracelet that he was now handing to me, as his new brother.
“I’ll make sure they don’t come here as soon as night falls and at the end of the night”, he said. Since his clan had decided not to follow the rules of mine on the territory anymore, protecting Sorina’s family had become our priority.
“I’ll be here before night fall and after dawn”, I said. I didn’t mean to refuse his help but I knew that Sorina wasn’t feeling comfortable with him alone and her parents either. He laughed.
