Now let's go back to our story.
Summary of previous episodes: Clarissa is coughing and wanted to watch Everett Cooper on TV but Jason
refused, she is due to get her rainbow the next day but she seems
scared, to make her feel better Jason leave the TV on. Clarissa tried to
explain about rainbows, she is a big fan of Everett Cooper but Jason is
not too sure about it. Clarissa complained about her dialophone but Jason needs to go to work.
Before completely leaving he is thinking about getting her her rainbow.
“Thirty four million swans is a lot of money,” the fat man said.
“The advertisement said, fifteen millions,” Jason answered.
“It’s a purple rainbow we are talking about.”
“The advertisement said fifteen millions, if I wanted one for thirty four million I would have called Everett Cooper.”
The fat man started to shake. It took some time for Jason to realize that it was his way of laughing.
“Do you think I need you to buy it when there are so many other potential buyers?” The fat man finally said.
“The advertisement said fifteen millions,” Jason repeated, trying to look in the man’s porcine eyes. He knew that if he could hold his gaze just long enough he would win.

ReplyDeleteHope he's able to win the negotiations. I don't like the fat man.
Very tricky situation. Be careful!
ReplyDeleteSuch confidence that he'll win in this bargaining, I like that.
ReplyDelete"Porcine", is a very under-utilized word. This is a great exchange between these two-- has a classic kind of feel to it.
