Tollymore Forest Park was the first state forest park in Northern Ireland since 1955. The Park is crossed by the Shimna River. There are 16 bridges to cross the river which is rich in salmon and trouts. The forest has four walking trails, the longest: the "long haul trail" is 13 km long.
