About Witch Raising: The Book of Fire

Witch Raising is a new series with Brownie, the heroine of Demon Soul as the main character. This series is part of the House at the Crossing Series and follows Demon Soul and Demon and Fairy but instead of being centered on the adventure of Sahel and his demon friends, it follows Brownie as she goes from being a normal girl to a bad ass witch. She has been practicing magick for a while now, saving people from difficult situations but the people at the house, including Sahel aren't happy with her new calling. Feeling that she doesn't have a choice and has to keep learning witchcraft, Brownie leaves to meet other witches.

The excerpt, we start where we left off last week

"Apparently," Brownie said.
"Apparently," the boy laughed. "We were going out for dinner, care to join?"
He pointed at a group of people he had probably just met and who were already unpacking things. Two girls seemed to be traveling together, they looked just a bit older than Brownie and with the same Asian eyes Saphira had and the same long black hair. They didn't seem scared about sharing a room with boys which seemed a bit weird to Brownie until one of the boys came over and kissed one of them before putting something in her bag. So maybe that was a group of three. There was another girl sitting on a corner bed, her face hidden by the book on the festival she was reading. Brownie didn't know if she was with the others or even if she was going to come out for diner.
Going out with strangers for diner wasn't really how Brownie had planned it. She had though she would be alone during the entire trip until she reached the coven, if she ever found it. On one hand she also wanted to be alone, she had a lot of thinking to do. On the other hand she didn't remember when she had any sort of quality time with any sort of friends or even went out to diner with anyone.
And how else would she met people anyway. She needed to work on her trust issues with humans or maybe with just anyone otherwise she would never fit in the coven if she needed to do some magic with them.
"Ok, I can join," she said.
"Brilliant," one of the girls answered. "What do you want to eat because we are vegetarian but the boys insist that we stop for the day because they have a special fire stew that they don't want to miss."
"Won't the fire stew be better during the festival," Brownie said.
She didn't really feel like eating something super spicy that would make her sick after her three days sleeping.
