Tuesday Travel 5: Witch Raising: The Book of Fire

Welcome to the first Tuesday Travel post. Every Tuesday, I will be presenting an excerpt of Witch Raising: The Book of Fire.

About Witch Raising: The Book of Fire

Witch Raising is a new series with Brownie, the heroine of Demon Soul as the main character. This series is part of the House at the Crossing Series and follows Demon Soul and Demon and Fairy but instead of being centered on the adventure of Sahel and his demon friends, it follows Brownie as she goes from being a normal girl to a bad ass witch. She has been practicing magick for a while now, saving people from difficult situations but the people at the house, including Sahel aren't happy with her new calling. Feeling that she doesn't have a choice and has to keep learning witchcraft, Brownie leaves to meet other witches.

The excerpt, we start where we left off last week

She saved the day, she saved Kallisto and her stupid demon boyfriend while Sahel was doing god know what in the Fairy World but still, they needed to talk and she already knew what about. He would have found a solution after coming back and she did't need, she shouldn't have put herself in danger. But that wasn't true, it had been the only solution and she knew it. And Sahel had to know it too, just he wouldn't accept it or just be happy that everything was fine.
Brownie took a deep breathe and put her first feet on the floor. She miss the rug and hit the cold wood floor. It felt intense, as if something was pulsing through the wood. I tried to discard the sensation like she was trying to discard her anger rising slowly but as she put her second feet on the floor, the sensation intensified. The wood was alive and pulsing. She swallowed and shook her head, she had to be imagining things. She walked to the window and pulled the curtains. The light seemed different as if it was made of little dancing particles flying and dancing in the air, suspended, attacking and playing with each other. The world looked different. She closed her eyes a moment and when she reopened them, the sensation was gone.
“I really need to eat something, I'm hallucinating.”
She still smelled like magic, the incense the used and the candle wax, the oil, even the smell of the candle flam was clinging at her clothes and body. She liked the smell, but if she wanted to hide from Sahel that she was doing magic, sleeping in the clothes she had just used for a spell, wasn't really the best idea ever.
“I don't need to hide from him,” Brownie said out loud opening the closet to pick up a blue shirt with lace collar and a pair of jeans.
