Thursday Fiction 426: Parallel Slip 2: Rebel

Welcome back to a new Thursday Fiction, it's been a while. We continue with Parallel Slip 2: Rebel where we left of last time, following Isabelle as she figure out who she really is.

“Just a second,” she said.

She opened the bottle and took a large swing of the brown liquid in her mouth swallowing it as fast as possible. It burned all the way through.

“Feeling better?”

“Not really,” she said coughing.

“You'll get used to it,” Romulus said adding more disinfectant, somehow, it didn't hurt as bad as the first time.

“I hope not,” Isabelle answered.

She kept her eyes fixed on her cut as Romulus stitched her despite him urging her look away. She wasn't afraid of knowing, she was more scared of the unknown, of feeling what he was doing without being able to put an image on it, looking away wouldn't change the reality, just make it hard to grasp.

The alcohol didn't take the pain away for long, by the second stitch, it made her stomach feel funny and by the last, she thought she was going to be sick.
